Questions & Answers

That's the first fountain pen I've ever owned. If I use an ink cartridge, do I have to use a converter? This is also true in the other direction. Does one option cost less than the other?

I am FearUP - thanks for the message. Personally, I think it depends on my preferences. Almost all of my fountain pens come with a converter because I like using bottled ink. One of my favorites is a pen that I call my travel pen. There are several of those, and some of them are Pilot Metropolitans. Cartridges are what I use in my travel pens. Thus, I won't have to worry about packing a bottle of ink or traveling with it. The pen looks like it will be a good match for you. As far as I am concerned, this is the best pen without a gold nib I have ever used. This Metro is better than both the $30 Larmy All-in-One and the $30 Larmy Multi-Disc Alternatively, the Cross Bailey may be purchased for $30. Among fountain pens under $50, I find this one to be the best.

Which is different from the model that came out just recently ?

The Amazon listing claims the newer version comes with the Pilot CON-002 laser power meter. I'm not sure if that is accurate or not. This converter has a piston size of 50. In the package with my pen (an older model), there is a plate converter (a rubber pouch).

Where can I find the instructions for removing the converter on my No matter what I try, it won't come ?

Hold on to the section as you gently twist. Sections are parts of the pen situated just above or below Attaching the converter to the section is done using a threadless socket which fits snugly. Due to the absence of thread, it can be twisted clockwise or counterclockwise without causing any harm. Hold the converter by the twisted end and gently pull it out. Trying to bend it will end up damaging it!

These pens are for the fashionably dressed gentleman
5/5

I love the size of this pen. It holds lots of ink, and writes smoothly. I use cheap Walmart notebook paper and noodlers bulletproof black ink for these samples, and I am blown away by how smoothly the writing is performing. I am able to get a pretty good line variation from this steel nib after using it for a while. Using the pen, I can draw skinny lines as well as fat lines about twice as thick. Filling it with ink is a snap, and everyone is jealous that I can use a pen so nice while everyone else is stuck with ballpoints. Now all of my notes look like the Declaration of Independence because this pen motivated me to master cursive.

Here is a fountain pen you won't find at any higher cost than this
5/5

It's the finest pen you can find at this price. Fit and finish is excellent, and it feels and looks A Pilot pen nib moves smoothly across paper and glides smoothly across sheets. There is a good fit between the pen's cap and the pen body. I have never had any problem with loose writing when I am writing normally. Weight of the cap shifts the balance of the pen when it is posted. When writing with the cap unposted, you can do it comfortably, unless your hands are enormous. In order to clean the Metropolitan, its body, section, feed, and nib must be taken apart. It is required to use a bulb syringe to flush the ink from the fixed section and feed of some pens. Though I have added some other pens to my collection, I always compare them to the Pilot Metropolitan for the quality of writing and the Adding an excellent first fountain pen to your writing collection, this pen makes for an excellent addition to your collection. Despite having some advantages, this pen has some downsides. Please note Br>- A pen made of cloth is heavier than a pen made of plastic. Brass makes up both the body and cap of the Metropolitan. As soon as the cap is posted, the balance of the pen shifts to If you want to fix this, simply leave the cap off when writing. Please note Br>- Using a snap cap, it can be closed. The screw-type caps may not be a disadvantage to you, but I prefer them. As part of the pleasure of using fountain pens, the process of unscrewing the cap is an enjoyable experience. Please note Br>- There are two different writing nib sizes to choose from There are two fines and two mediums in Japan (corresponding to extra fine and fine in Europe). I like the nib because it is well-made It behaved well when using Pilot ink, but it's scratchy when using other ink types. The Pilot ink is the most effective at lubricating the finer points of the nib. Place an order now, and you'll be glad you did.

I strongly advise you not to buy this product
3/5

I absolutely hate it. The ink or writing fails to flow no matter how I try. Even after using most of the tricks in the book, it still won't produce anything more than a very faded line. It is better to buy pens at the dollar store than using this one. It is not a recommendation that I would make unless there is a problem with the unit. Attempting to troubleshoot left me with ink all over my hands, which now makes me look like a fool. A scam has just taken place, and I feel.

Writing is great, ergonomics is proper, but the mechanics are lacking
3/5

The first thing I want to say is that I really enjoy using this pen. With this metal nib, the strong black ink flows beautifully from the nib and onto the paper in a way that JinHao users aren't used to. Both are mine (I have them There are no proprietary ink cartridges in this pen. Pilot ink cartridges are almost universally available - they are tried and true and work well. It is well worth the effort. An artificial bulb well (I. e. , like a cartridge converter Although the caps DO NOT stay posted well, this is the typical problem found with similarly priced JinHao counterparts. The problems are made worse by picking up and laying down the pen on a regular basis. I lose (Yes, it is that bad. In addition to familiarizing the user with the semi-automatic method, this also provides insights into It does little to lessen one's frustration to observe a circular motion of an unexpected shape in an atmosphere. In this case, the barrel is left free to roll off of a table, causing the point to be impacted with nearby floors. There is a repeat problem with this pen and others in the Metropolitan series. There is no other method of holding the cap in place than friction, and it is barely held in place at that, with the taper design further aggravating the problem. It would likely be enough to add surface area for casual use to improve the grip of the cap if the barrel were more cylindrical with little or no taper, as would designing the cap to fit the rear portion of the It is hoped that this design error will be corrected during the production process.

There is nothing outstanding about the pen
3/5

The pen has appealing looks, is a good size and weight, and is also reasonably priced. The pen is a little heavier than many others, but the feel and weight of it feel solid and well designed. Additionally, the nib on my pen is described as a medium but seems to write closer to a fine. Across the board, Japanese nibs seem to be a little finer than German or American nibs, and that appears to be the case here as well. In fact, I would like this pen a lot. Considering how it feels, I would use this pen all the time if it performed like it claims. As I said, I am open to discussing it. Having read the file, it appears that it writes just fine, but not very well. Since the nib tends to dry out between every use, it is a necessity to replace it every time I uncap the pen Start priming the printer to get ink flowing. As far as quality is concerned, I have not found this to be the smoothest writing nib, but neither was it the worst either. It's just not quite as smooth as I would like. Also, it skips from time to time as I write The pen does seem to write a little better on high-quality paper, but it is true that people cannot expect to always write on high-quality paper. The important thing to remember is that this is a cheap fountain pen, so you shouldn't be too disappointed with it. It is so rare to get a bad pen, like I said, I do want to like this pen. There are so many good reviews, so I might try another one just to see if maybe my first pen is bad.
