The outside pocket measures 16" long by 3" tall and is just over an inch deep. A cleaning rod, a couple of silk cloths, pencils, and a small tuner/metronome can all fit in there.
A b foot joint will fit in there, but I wouldn't try to cram a piccolo in there. If you're looking for a way to keep track of everything, look into Cavalieri bags. Mine lasted me all the way through college and for a long time afterwards.

Make sure to read the entire description before proceeding. It's a good bag, but it's not a case because the flute isn't in a form-fitting case. For your flute, it's essentially a duffle bag. If you want your flute to be protected, you must place it inside your old case. I'm not returning it because it's not their fault that I didn't read the description or look at all of the photos. Also, the bag I received does not resemble the one in the photo.
Can be used as a cane case when not in use. Is there enough space for a triathlon? pod tip. I was brought up to believe that things are not always as they appear. That is to say, if you have a need, the most unusual thing you can think of may be able to fulfill it. Having said that, I use a motorized wheelchair. However, with the aid of a cane, he can walk long distances. My cane has a tri-fold design for added stability. pod tip. My problem was simple (or so I thought): I needed to find a way to keep the collapsible can with the very large tri-fold lid in place. Tip the pod and attach it to the wheelchair so it's always there when you need it. I looked for a flute case for over two months before I found one. It was small, had a soft side, and could be attached to something. It functions admirably. I would strongly suggest it. br>I didn't have to remove any molded plastic or super thick foam padding from this case. It was a fantastic value. It took an eternity for the package to arrive, but it was well worth the wait.
This bag was purchased for my daughter eight months ago, and she has only used it for five months. She is smitten with the hue. It fit perfectly in her student bag, and the front pocket is large enough to hold her mask, bell cover, and cleaning supplies. The front pocket's zipper pull broke, rendering it unusable, and the main zipper's one side broke (as seen in the photo). It was fine for my first-year student, but it only lasted her one semester of middle school band.
I bought it for my daughter because she likes the color and it's easy to clean if it gets dirty. One disadvantage is that it does not come with a hard case; however, if you already have one, it will fit inside. However, the flute cannot be placed in this case by itself. My daughter loves the large front pocket because it holds all of her cleaning supplies and still leaves room for more if necessary.
It's made of a durable material that appears to last a long time. It has enough room inside for a variety of case sizes, as well as a front pocket for cleaning supplies. It fits perfectly on my advanced flute (low B flat key). It's also convenient to have the option of using a shoulder or hand holder strap.
It's fine for what it is, for example. I guess I misinterpreted what I was purchasing. br>br>It's just a soft fabric cover for one of those slender cases that doesn't have a handle. It isn't a case in and of itself. br>br>It's a tough fabric; I doubt it'll tear easily. For whatever reason, I assumed it was a case. Also available in a very bright pink. br>br>.
For students, this is a nice case cover. Swabs, cleaning rods, and other items can be stored in pockets.
This is the ideal flute cover for use as an outer layer of protection. It's big enough to hold any case.
