This is a fantastic case, and it worked out perfectly as a gift, replacing an old Geimenhart case that was being held together by a large rubber band on one side after the old clasp broke about 15 years ago. If you're looking for a last-minute gift, this is the place to go. It was definitely worth using some good protection to get it through until the next 5 or more kids, despite the fact that it was down but still a very nice student flute. Aside from the lining being a little thinner than I would have liked, the rest of the case is excellent. br>br>I wish more cases had a pocket or slot for the cleaning rod and swab, etc. , because this one didn't, and so many others don't. br>br>In comparison to foam gig bags, a hard shell case is a must. If you're going to carry these instruments in a backpack, under a bus seat, or in a locker, you'll need a case like this. If you're a parent, consider the following when purchasing a replacement case: Please consider this. This is coming from a parent who has mostly used trumpets and french horns in the past. Despite the fact that flutes do not have a bell, they still require hard shell protection. Gig bags aren't a good idea unless they're made by a reputable company and come with the instrument. At all.
It isn't a particularly attractive case. I didn't want to spend money on a fancy case because it's a student flute. br>br>It does the job, and as small as it is, it appeals to me.
Awesome.
I only had it for about two months before the handle broke.
