Kathleen, you are absolutely correct. I've always washed my dishes in the dishwasher. It's been in my possession for at least six years. To be safe, I recently purchased a second chopper. Despite the fact that I am not a "gadget" person, I adore this chopper. SSK
I've never tried it with frozen nuts, but it's great with walnuts, macadamia nuts, and other nuts. unfrozen. The blades would be quickly dulled by hard, frozen things, in my opinion.
The 5-year warranty is only valid for products purchased from an authorized distributor. All Pampered Chef products come with a one-year warranty. 5 years (some products have a lifetime warranty), and that warranty is only valid if the product was purchased directly from the company or through a consultant.

Damaged and filthy with FOOD when it arrived! YUCK! Pampered Chef seemed like a high-end brand to me. It is, without a doubt, high-end. My order arrived today, and it's filthy, with CHIPPED plastic! The box is labeled NEW, as seen in the photo. Food splatters the tool, the filth at the top of the blades isn't visible in the photo, and the plastic is chipped in a few spots. The box's bag had been ripped open. It appears that it was simply sent out for the next customer after being returned (unclean and damaged). Yes, I'm returning it for a full refund and replacing it with something else.
I bought this chopper for my wife to help her with Thanksgiving preparations, but it was defective. We've been Pampered Chef fans and customers for over a decade, and our previous chopper broke after five years of heavy use, which was fine and expected. However, after two days, this chopper had left deep grooves in the plastic cylinder container. Onions, peppers, and celery were the only foods chopped (over two uses totaling about 30 minutes). The outcome is included in the attachment. No, those marks aren't dried icing, residue, or anything else. The chopper blades going up and down have created DEEP grooves in the plastic. As you can see, the plastic has a few fine scratches on it. It appears that the blades are out of alignment in some way. This chopper has never been put in the dishwasher and has only been hand-washed with liquid Dawn detergent. This has never happened to us or any of our friends who have owned a Pampered Chef chopper. This is a flaw in the seller's product. I'm returning this item for a full refund and alerting potential buyers to our Amazon experience with this seller.
It's difficult to keep it together, and once it's put together, it quickly falls apart. Because it can only chop a small amount of food at a time, completing the task at hand is difficult. Use this money to purchase another Pampered Chef food chopper. We've had this before and ordered one of these instead of this one, and it's fantastic! It works just like the previous one we've had for years and can handle far more volume than this dreck. This is an example of when spending more money pays off! The other Pampered Chef item does an excellent job. Isn't there a significant difference in price? I didn't request a refund because I had already discarded the box and other items. However, I regret not calling Amazon. This is a complete squander of funds!.
Preferred Products is not a good place to buy this item used. I purchased this used, and Preferred Products' description failed to mention that the lower plastic collar had very deep scratches. The chopper works fine, but the deep scratches may weaken the plastic over time; Amazon gave me a ten-dollar gift credit because the seller had noted this major flaw and the item was also full of food particles (which had never been cleaned before shipping it to me). Other reviews noted deep scratches on similar, but new choppers, indicating that the lower plastic collar was not properly screwed into the slots, allowing the chopping blades to strike it. a mistake made by the user Preferred Products is the best chopper on the market, but they are a bad third-party vendor.
I had to buy a new one at some point. I bought one nearly 15 years ago and it is still in excellent condition. After the plastic cracked and wouldn't stay attached, I finally had to buy a new one. I was thrilled to find a replacement on Amazon, and it worked perfectly for the first four uses, but now the top piece is separating, and it's difficult to twist and keep the plastic in place. I don't think this will last very long, and it was far too expensive to be used only once. I was extremely disappointed.
I bought one from a coworker more than a decade ago (albeit reluctantly at the time). I quickly realized it was a total champ, and I used it all the time, eventually wearing it out and having to look for a replacement. I bought two lower-cost ones after being taken aback by the price. Both of these items have been thrown away: They didn't deserve to be on the shelf, and I wouldn't wish them on anyone. br>br>While this is an expensive item, I believe it would be a waste of money to try to replace it with anything else. I put it to the test with some trepidation: raw onion in fine dice. Now, you have to start the process by chopping it (very) roughly, but then, bam bam bam bam, you're done. It's fine. I could have gone on to make a puree if I had kept going. Don't be fooled by the fact that it doesn't appear to be much at first glance. With the exception of the blade, everything is made of plastic. It has an unassumingly simple design, but it simply works. I'm guessing I'll get ten years out of this one before replacing it to save money.
The old one had become dull after many years of service, and I am very pleased with the new one. It does exactly what it says. There was also no damage to the clear plastic sleeve that the blades ran along during the chopping action. After many years of use, our old chopper showed signs of scratching. br>br>UPDATE: I've been using this product for three months and it's still working well.
One of these lasted over 11 years before the clear plastic part cracked. It was like chopping food with a penny when I bought a Kitchenaid version. I was so annoyed that I bought this on the internet. This Pampered Chef replacement is the real deal. The blades are razor sharp, and because it's so efficient, I actually over chopped the first couple of times I used it. If you're looking to replace an old one or if you've never used one before and don't have one, I strongly advise you to get one. It is very simple to clean.
