This is what it says on the cardboard box it came in: Everette Washington designed this in China for Norpro. It appeals to me greatly. It isn't a flimsy sensation. It has a good grip and is easy to cut with. It's also not a bad price.
I always use a cutting board, but I wouldn't use one on granite because it could scratch it. (It's one of my most used tools.)
Norpro's products are all safe to eat and use. Thank you for your inquiry!
I've never had a rust problem, but I am a neat freak in the kitchen. After each use, I thoroughly clean and dry my utensils. I'm not sure what would happen if you left it to soak overnight in soapy water. 😬

The old chopper was made by a different company and was not nearly as well-made as this one. br>I do everything with this chopper. br> My husband worked as a Sioux Chef for many years in the lovely Swiss Hotel here in Atlanta, and he always cooks with the chopper in his hand. It has the following characteristics: br> It's made of stainless steel and includes a built-in measuring guide. It's ideal for baking, dividing, and cutting anything to exact measurements. Remember to thoroughly wash your hands and avoid cross-contamination. Instead of just one, I really need two new ones. br> I use it to chop and slice cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and any other vegetable that comes to mind. It has a black plastic grip handle that fits perfectly in just about anyone's palm or hand, and it's invaluable for getting every last bit of vegetables, meats, cheeses, or whatever you're slicing and chopping off your cutting board onto your cutting board. It neatly collects your food in one swoop, allowing you to scoop it up quickly and pop it all right into your pan! br>I've even used mine to scrape wax and stuck-on foods off of counters (which can dull it over time, but you can sharpen it like a knife). br>If I can locate my old one, I'll start using it for "counter scraping. My purchase has made me extremely happy! It has me completely enamored! This would make an excellent gift for any chef, cook, mother, father, friend, neighbor, newlywed couple, etc. I'm confident that anyone considering purchasing this will be pleasantly surprised by its quality and performance, and it will become a permanent fixture in their kitchen for the rest of their lives. Of course, this is just my little ol' point of view. 😊.
I didn't buy it for myself because I'm not a cook. My wife saw something similar on a cooking show and expressed an interest in having one, so as the wonderful husband that I am, I purchased it. It was a wise decision! Since then, she's been raving about it, so this one gets a lot of brownie points. She always summons me to the kitchen to demonstrate her culinary prowess. "Honey, take a look at how I'm going to do this!" "br>I say, "Hey, that's great," despite the fact that I have no idea what she's doing. If your significant other enjoys cooking, do yourself a favor and get one of these for them.
This is a fantastic scraper for boards. It can be used as a "chopper"; it isn't sharp enough for me to call it a knife, but it could certainly do a better job than tearing vegetables or something. This is precisely what I was looking for, and it performs admirably.
It's a good product that's well-made. It cuts dough well, but it's not knife-sharp, so it's best used as a scraper. Because the side with the measurements is not nearly as readable as the pictures show, I gave it one star. To make it stand out, they either changed the printing or manipulated the contrast in the images.
I've never had a better scraper than this. Without damaging my countertop, I was able to scrape the surface in one clean scoop. It's also razor sharp, allowing you to cut the dough in one go. It comes highly recommended!.
I'd never use this for chopping, so disregard that part of the product description. A bench scrapper, on the other hand, is one of those kitchen tools that you don't appreciate until you have one. Several applications (flour cleaning, dough lifting, picking up chopped vegetables, etc. ). If your counter is made of a scratchable material, this metal version will most likely scratch it, so be careful. If you use your kitchen, however, it is likely to have a lot of scratches! They also make a plastic version, which I find less concerning on this front, but it lacks the flex of the metal version.
What's not to like about a knife that cuts, scrapes, feels steady and comfortable in the hand, and is built to last a lifetime?.
My son, who is a student at a world-renowned culinary school, brought his knife kit home one weekend, and it is such a useful tool for the kitchen that it should be included in every wedding shower'Wishing Well' for the rest of time. Of course, when he gets home from school, we make him cook dinner, and I watched him whiz around the kitchen with his scrapper, quickly completing tasks that I had struggled with. Cleaning cutting boards, scooping up chopped onions, making salad. So, in a nutshell, I needed one. The Nopro 583 is a tool that I always have on hand and use on a daily basis. It's well worth the money, and there aren't many of them!.
