2 cups of shredded material can be stored in it. This is a fantastic product, and the container is marked on the side to indicate whether you have 1 or 2 cups. Because my mother-in-law had one that I adored, I purchased one for myself and other members of my family. I hope you found this information useful.
That's what I believe. Last Christmas, I bought two of them as gifts. Everything I've heard about them has been positive. It's an excellent purchase, in my opinion.
I haven't tried it yet, but I believe it will work well! This grater is built to last.
It should be fine on the top shelf, in my opinion. I simply use warm soapy water to rinse mine.

What a fantastic grater you have there! Increases the efficiency of the grating in a big way. Grating great cheese into the grater's great container drawer has led me to graciously award this greatly improved grater a non-discretionary five star great grater grade.
The grater's concept appeals to me, as does the collection tray. The grater produces a fairly fine grate, sometimes a little too fine for my purposes. I believe it's because they tried to make a double grate on one side, which means you're grating on both the down and up strokes. Unless you're good at grating down, pulling away, and starting over at the top, if you're looking for long grates of product, this may not be the way to go. Also, because it grates in both directions, it moves quickly, but you must be careful not to get your fingers too close to the blades. Because the dual grates will shred my kitchen sponge, I'll clean this one with just a kitchen brush. I wish they'd make this concept available with a regular grater!.
After reading a few negative reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this, but I went ahead and did so. I'm so glad I took the chance. This grater is a personal favorite of mine. The grate holes are on both sides, which I really like. Being able to grate in a back-and-forth motion is more convenient and efficient. I'm not sure where the negative feedback came from, because it's not difficult to use. The fact that it comes in a container is a plus. There will be no more cheese strewn across the counter.
I like how low-profile it is, and how you can use it while lying down or standing up, and how it shreds in both directions. The only time I've had trouble with it is when I'm not paying attention and accidentally point the cup in the wrong direction. Also, because there are so many plastic parts, static attraction can be an issue when grating certain foods. In the dishwasher, both the grater and the cup are easy to clean.
This is something I'm not sure about. This was originally purchased (at Walmart) for my summer home. It was supposed to be a cheap throwaway item (isn't that where everything comes from?). Then I went to zest some limes and was astounded at how quickly I was able to get a large amount of zest without accidentally grating a knuckle (ew). I was so taken with it that I bought two copies on Amazon, one for myself and the other for a family member. I took my orange out of the refrigerator to zest it, and. . . . nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. . . instead of the perfect zesty crumbles I desired, I got a bunch of squooshed orange gunk. It was just as bad when I tried it on the other side with cheese. Instead of giving me a fine shred of cheese, it crumbled it. I had to send my mother a humiliating email. I'm sorry I bought her a useless piece of junk, says the law. This is a pity, because the rest of the grater (aside from the grating portion) is extremely durable and well-designed. What went wrong with the blades?.
I wish I could get the longer shreds I get with my old style grater, but it works and doesn't make a mess like I wanted. If you go back and forth, it grates both ways, but if you prefer, you can just go one way. Grating can be done in a variety of ways. That's all well and good, but there are times when you crave a different kind of cheese texture.
This is a lovely grate, and I really like how the container slides out. It also grates in both directions, making it extremely useful. The issue I'm having is that the holes are getting smaller and smaller. It would be ideal if it had the larger grating holes on one side and the smaller grating holes on the other, but it is too small for many applications. In my opinion, it is a mincer rather than a grater. However, the product is of good quality.
Though the dual-direction grating is only useful in theory, this is a good product. Because the hols aren't as deep, you have to exert more effort and it appears to move more slowly.
