It's like a toilet in that it's universal and anyone can use it.
This is an excellent product.
Yes. I've never zested an orange, but I've done it before with limes and lemons, so I'm confident it would work with an orange. It also has a main section for regular zest and a side option for a twirly garnish.

br>br>Unlike some of the other zesters I've tried that produce shredded strips with torn edges, this Oxo zester zests easily and zests perfectly. br>br>I don't mind the thick, wide handle, but my fingers are unusually long for a woman's. I'm 5' 11", so this zester is a good fit for me, and I like the tapered shape. If you're much smaller than I am, you might want to look at my review of the Victorinox zester/s (Wood or polypropylene handle) instead. br>br>If the chunky handle on this Oxo zester doesn't bother you, this zester is a great choice, and I give it five stars. br>br>This was the only zester I tried that worked well with the channel knife on the side of the zester. (It's worth noting that the Victorinox zester lacks a channel knife. )br>br>Check out my profile page for more zester reviews. I was intrigued when I saw a citrus zester with this design in a YouTube video, because regular zesters scrape my skin and produce a lot of pith, as well as take a long time. I looked on Amazon and was pleased to see that Oxo makes one in this style, as I've rarely had an Oxo product that wasn't well-made. br>br>Well, I did cut myself on this the first time I used it, but that was my fault because I was carrying a parrot on my shoulder, which made things awkward for me ergonomically. As a result, you can injure yourself while using it. If you don't have a parrot on your shoulder, however, it's very easy to avoid injuring yourself, and every time I used it after that, it was fantastic and far safer than a regular zester. br>br>I highly recommend it; I'm glad I got one and wish I'd had one all the time. I'm no longer afraid of zesting citrus when a recipe calls for it. br>br>Oh, and because the zest comes out in long strands, straining it out of liquids in which it has been steeped is a breeze. And, if you're into that sort of thing, I suppose it would make candied citrus peel a breeze.
You must exercise extreme caution in this situation. It gives you a false sense of security when you're dealing with the nastier sharp graters. It's really only for citrus, so cheese, nutmeg, and ginger aren't really helped. However, holding it without slipping or scraping yourself is extremely difficult. I believe that getting the all-inclusive package would have been a better choice. Those with a safety guard are specifically designed for this purpose.
The zester is a nice bonus to this good little channel knife, which has an ergonomic handle. It has a nice twist to it.
This is, without a doubt, the best zester I've ever seen. Not to mention that it produces fantastic citrus spirals. This purchase has given me a lot of joy.
It does exactly what it's supposed to do and then disappears into the kitchen drawer!.
I've spent years collecting bar tools so that I can have a fully stocked bar. After making messy lemon twists with a vegetable peeler and a paring knife, I discovered a channel knife was the tool I needed to make pretty citrus twists. After reading a lot of online articles and Amazon reviews, I decided OXO's Good Grips Citrus Zester and Channel Knife was the best channel knife for me because it has a short, ergonomically shaped rubbery grip for no slippage in a wet hand and allows for a right-handed twist. Other channel knives had slick metal grips, and one had to be drawn in a way that I thought would be awkward while holding a small round piece of fruit. Naturally, it was out of stock as soon as I decided to purchase it. (At the start of the Covid-era, I'm sure everyone was working on their home bars. ) 19 stay- orders to be delivered to your home! It was back in stock after about a month. So now I've got this fantastic channel knife that cuts a nice, even strip of lemon, lime, or orange. I don't use the zester because I prefer the finer zest that my microplane produces, but I did give it a try and can confirm that it's just as sharp. If you're correct, I strongly advise you to- handed. Sorry for the inconvenience, lefties!.
It's a huge help when it comes to cooking! It's simple to use, and I've had no problems with it; the fruit should be firm, but it will work on slightly overripe fruit as well.
