I rarely write reviews unless the product is so good that I want others to know about it (or if the product is a colossal failure that I want potential buyers to be aware of). With that said, I am completely blown away by this product! Wow sums it up perfectly! br>br>I adore this product and highly recommend it to all pastry bakers and anyone else who needs a non-slip workspace mat! This mat is incredibly simple to use and clean, and it folds up to take up very little room when not in use. It stays put while you roll out dough, and it's simple to use. Its easy-to-read measuring guide makes rolling out the perfect size dough a breeze, and cleanup is a breeze because you simply fold it up to keep your flour or other mess contained inside the mat, then gently shake it off into the trash. It's just as simple to clean with a dishrag or soft sponge, and it'll be clean in no time. br>br>As I previously stated, I am extremely impressed with this mat and its high-quality construction. I'm buying one for each of my daughters (and future daughters-to-be) because it's of such high quality. This year, give the gift of love) as a Christmas gift! This mat is not only great for pastry bakers, but it can also be used as a craft mat for kids and adults. The mat doesn't slide around like some others I've used before, but it stays put, making it ideal for protecting your table when you have little crafters around. It would also be ideal for finger-painting due to its large size. You can paint without the paints splattering all over your table. I'm so pleased with this product that I'm ordering a second one to use in all of my craft projects! You can't go wrong with this product; it's incredible and long-lasting. It's impossible to give this book more than five stars. I'd give it a higher rating if I could. ADDED A WARNING! br>br>EDITED TO ADD A WARNING! br>br>After three months of consistent use, I was disappointed to discover on Friday night that the mat had started to tear along the crease in the middle. The mat was folded into this neat, little square when it was shipped to me, which I really liked. I folded it back up and placed it on the top shelf of the under cabinet where I keep my hand mixer, rolling pins, and other kitchen tools after each use and cleaning, but I always made sure it wasn't near anything sharp or that nothing was stacked on top of it. My second blunder was folding the mat after each use, exactly as it had been shipped to me, because I liked how convenient it was to store it that way. Instead, I should have ROLLED the mat and stored it that way, as I believe the chances of it ripping would have been reduced. br>br>As a result of the tear, I've reduced my rating to four stars. However, this mat is still fantastic in my opinion, and I will most likely order another one in the near future. I'm disappointed that the tear has developed, and I'm hoping that the manufacturer will figure out how to make it even stronger so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Please be mindful of this flaw in the design.

This mat was purchased with the intention of using it to form dough. It's something I've used twice and never cut on. Despite the fact that it has never been in the oven or dishwasher, a tear in the middle still exists. br>br>I like how big this mat is, but it isn't very durable. It's not something I'd advise you to do. It is being returned and exchanged. I'll update this review if the next one sent to me performs well. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I received a new one from Amazon. It arrived in two pieces, one of which was split in half. I'm switching brands because I don't trust this one.

"Wow, either that's really compact, or it's smaller than I expected," I thought the first time I saw the box this thing was in. "It turned out it was just really compact, because when I took it out and unfolded it, it was HUGE! This is a great pastry mat if you need something extra large. It had grid lines for measuring and a circular measurement section in the middle, which I really liked. I really wanted to like this mat, but there were two issues:br>1) Despite the fact that the mat was not at fault, it turned out to be too large for my kitchen space. I was prepared to accept that fact until I became aware of the second problem. br>2) The mat had a tear in the center after only one use, despite the fact that it was kept away from all sharp implements. It may or may not have come that way because I didn't notice it when I first took the mat out of the box (though it looked pretty pinched after that). It was disappointing to discover a hole after only one use, even if it didn't come with one. As a result, I'm going to send it back. If you don't have any of the issues listed above, you've got yourself a fantastic pastry mat!.

I purchased this mat in June of this year and have thoroughly enjoyed its use. I would have given it a five star rating if it hadn't been shipped folded rather than rolled, resulting in a permanently creased and weak center. The center crease has begun to break open after only about 10 uses. I've always kept the mat rolled up, never folded, so it's not my fault. The break is in the dead center, where it was folded in half and then folded once more. I wish I had inspected again and earlier before I was unable to return.

I have another brand that is not silicone, wipes off easily, etc. , but it does not stay in place when I use it, and I have to flour it heavily to keep the dough from sticking to it. I took a chance on this one and haven't looked back since! br>br>I really like how big it is - There's plenty of room on the mat to keep any additional ingredients or items you might need close at hand (for easy cleanup). During the time I was making the pie, this mat remained stationary. I can't remember the last time that happened, but the first pie crust I rolled out on this mat came off beautifully the first time! The quick conversions that come with the mat are also very useful. The mat is very easy to fold and roll up. No creases or curves remain because the material is silicone.

It has cracked on the folded part where it was delivered after being used once, hand washed, and air dried. The center area, which had been folded in shipping, cracked after rolling. I intend to return. We were disappointed because we had developed a passion for baking.
