The steak knives have a partial serration on them. This is a block that you should avoid purchasing. With the name Henckels on it, it's just cheap junk. This is the worst set I've ever bought, and I'd return it if I could get in touch with someone. It was a complete waste of money. You'll have to sharpen them every day, and even then they won't be razor-sharp. STAY AWAY

I like how sharp they are without being too heavy, so my daughter can use one to cut her homemade sushi (with my supervision). Everything is so much easier to cut with these. These knives should not be washed in the dishwasher. After 8 months of use, the plastic handles started to crack. Plastic chunks were discovered at the bottom of the dishwasher and in the utensil basket. For a while, super glue kept them from cracking, but they eventually did. The money spent was not well spent.
