Questions & Answers

When it comes to steak knives, how long do they usually last?

This was a gift for my son, but the blade and handle appear to be around 7 inches long. 8 inches in length Also, these knives are quite nice.

What distinguishes the Cangshan knife series (i.e. (for example, y1 series, n1 series, s1 series, and so on)?

The main distinction appears to be. The handles in each series are different from one another. The handle on the N1 series, for example, is metal, open, and solidly attached to the blade. The handles on some of the others are made of wood.

Is there any way to tell the difference between this (n1 or s1) and the Thomas Keller series?

The S1 is a full-bolster knife made of X50CrMoV15 steel (Thyssen-Krupp). Krupp 1. 4116). The N1 series has a unique handle with a slightly different blade shape and no bolster, and it comes in one size. Sandvik 14C28N steel, which has better edge retention but is a little more prone to chipping than 4116 steel. Cangshan's flagship series, the Thomas Keller series, is made of Rwl 34 steel, a powder/particulate steel similar to CPM 154. This is an excellent steel. The ergonomics of the Thomas Keller series differ from those of the other two. They're all excellent knives.

What kind of material is used for the handles?

Ivory that is white and hard to the touch. Knives are fantastic; I use them all the time and prefer them to our henkels.

In December, I purchased this knife set as well as a few other knives
3/5

This knife set was purchased in December, and several of the knives have started to rust. This should not be happening for such a large sum of money! Not happy.

The quality is poor
3/5

I had bought a set of these knives and was eager to put them to use. They were sturdy at first, but one of the knives broke after three months. Another one was chipped a few days later. After a few days, it began to rust, and I contacted customer service, who informed me that this was not normal wear and tear and that there was nothing that could be done about it. When it comes to cooking, what constitutes normal wear and tear? Knives made of stainless steel are not supposed to chip. These knives are of poor quality; there are many other companies that produce better knives at a lower price. Stay away from this place; the customer service is terrible. I went to the store and bought better knives for half the price.

I purchased these in January of 2018 and they haven't lasted
3/5

The handles have all started to crack after a year and a half of normal household cooking. Given the price, I was hoping for a longer life. These weren't outrageously priced, but they weren't cheap either. These aren't as durable as some of the $80 Walmart sets I've had. I was extremely disappointed.

For the past six months, I've had the knives
3/5

Yes, there is. For the past six months, I've had the knives. On the white handles, there are numerous cracks. I won't be purchasing anything else in the future.

This knife set is a must-have! When I came across these knives while looking for CUTCO knives, I was blown away
5/5

Handle the case with extreme caution. . . My only concern was: One of the knives went right through my finger, requiring stitches. But that's just a picture to show how sharp and long-lasting these knives are. The quality is excellent, and it complements the kitchen beautifully. I'm in the African continent right now. As an American woman, we cut a lot of yams, turnips, and other root vegetables for the holidays. . . These knives cut straight through with no effort.

These knives were purchased based on Amazon's positive reviews and attractive photos
3/5

These knives were purchased based on Amazon's positive reviews and attractive photos. To be honest, when I first opened my Cangshan S1 Series, they appeared to be used, but I quickly realized that they lacked the luster appeal seen in the Amazon photos. As a result, don't hold your breath for what you see in the photos. Also, they aren't entirely white; the white handle on my set had some grey in it. They are razor-sharp and have a pleasant feel to them when in use. They are prone to scratching and staining.

China is a garbage producer
3/5

I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. They appeared to be in agreement. It felt great for a few months, but the handles began to crack after about three months. I cut chicken with the shears. They were distorted! I've had a pair of German shears for four years and they're still going strong. They effortlessly glide over cartilage and joints. This set has left me extremely dissatisfied. They are extremely expensive. I didn't last a year. The knife block was the only good thing about it. Heavy-duty construction very well done. In the end, don't waste your money on this high-priced nonsense. It may be made of German steel, but the Chinese assembly is a sham.

Knives have been sharpened
5/5

Knives that are both sharp and attractive. This set of knives replaced a 17-year-old Wustof Grand Prixe set. Even with regular sharpening service - it was clear that it was time to replace the old set. New knives are razor sharp, easy to cook with, wash, and store, and come with a wet stone grind polish. (I still use the old knives to chop garlic, onions, and other vegetables. )br>br>I have no opinion or comment on the knives' wear and tear, discoloration, or rusting. In three years, come back to me with a new question. I don't anticipate any problems because we wash and dry our knives as soon as we finish using them.
