Providing that it does not get dropped during shipping or damaged in storage, it should be 0 if you do not damage it. From 0000 to The deviation in accuracy, which depends on the ambient temperature, humidity, and on whether you forgot to remove the dust or oil that is supposed to be applied to the surface to prevent it from rusting, can be up to one thousandth. It might need to be grinned "true" again if you suspect it is not accurate enough. Take it to a machine shop if this happens.

The edges are ground on both sides. I am unable to verify that the edges are precision ground. A small arrow points to one of the edges with the words "support here". Usually it describes a storage area, but that edge has always been where I use it. The good caliper I normally use at this time is not available at this moment, but I measure it as follows It is 225 thick and 2 cm thick. The widest area of the design is 41 inches and the length is 36 inches. This may be of some help.
Packaged in an opened condition, this item is a full-size brand new item. Due to our lack of affiliation with Starrett, we must turn any warranty claims over directly to them. It is possible to contact them through the Internet. Despite this, we have never seen any issues.

Precision to the point of perfection. Three reasons are preventing me from giving one star to this review. 1) It would have been nice if Starrett had thought of making two elongated holes in the middle (like the one made by Groz, which I saw at the local Rockler store), much easier to hold the edge without worrying about it slipping off. There are two other issues with the finish 1) It It would have been nice if it had been polished a However, this may not be an issue for others. 3) You don't have a protective cover? As soon as I handled an instrument this precise and expensive, I would certainly expect it to have some kind of protective enclosure. This is a highly highly recommended product in general.
It was a Starrett, and I was very pleased with all their products. My straight edge was damaged in shipment, like so many others that Shipments of heavy objects are not handled with any care by UPS. It would be a good idea if Starrett shipped them in a hard When the tool is shipped, it cannot be adequately protected by a cardboard box. My box is damaged in one corner where it was completely crushed. The tool is a good one. Shipped in a poor condition and packaged carelessly.
The ground quality of the bar is near perfect, as it carries (word removed). Whenever I have used it on an inline six cylinder head or block, it has been long enough to measure across it completely. Because of this, you can purchase the shorter ones. It's just a little long for four cylinder length heads. One drawback of all precision measuring tools is that they are expensive. It is possible that accuracy may vary after an error has been made.
When I opened it, though, it was the straight edge that affected its weight. I was surprised by how heavy this was and how well it arrived. In a pool of thin oil, the body is wrapped in some kind of paper. My Powermatic model 64A tablesaw has been in use for 10 years and was thought to be set up perfectly, even and straight. I noticed that the right extension wing was drooping down at the outside a bit when I checked it with my new straight edge. As for the wing bolts on the outside, I loosened them a bit and shimmed beneath the bolts so that they aligned properly. Once the table board had been moved to the extension wing, it was ready to be tucked away. I set my saw up with a four-foot level, and I was shocked to see that the level was off by that much. Also, I used the starret to correct the fence on my shaper, and you wouldn't believe how well it worked. The bottom line is that if you are having trouble getting true cuts from your tablesaw, shaper, or jointer, then I suggest that you break down and buy the best straight edge on the market, you will not be disappointed. One of my regrets is that I didn't give up a lot sooner.
I purchased it for precision. There is no doubt that this is the straightest item I have ever seen and it makes me feel at home knowing it will do the job well.
As long as you pay for it, you'll get what you need. The program works very well.
It bent right out of the box when I took it out of the.
This is a flat and straight line.
