Product Description

For some projects, you'll have to be able to adjust your work surface to your particular needs. When you need a flat work surface, it doesn't matter if you are a woodworker, metal worker or hobbyist. It used to be quite challenging to find an economical tool for checking the flatness of a surface. This is no longer true!
It's a lightweight straight edge made of aluminum that can be used easily. You should use the straight edge to properly inspect your work surface for flatness in order to identify if it has any gaps, pits, or undulations which may catch, hook, or slow down the material as it is fed through a blade, cutter, or during the process of
This Aluminum Straight Edge is that tool, and it is highly accurate to within precisely defined tolerances, so it is perfect for checking flatness in wet stones, jointers, planers, power tools, general machinery, table tops, and counter tops. Where there is a seam, this works exceptionally well to ensure both sides are as even as possible.
A straight edge is the perfect tool for this job, but it is also accurate to exacting tolerances, which makes it useful for checking wet stones, jointers, planers, power tools, general machinery, as well as table tops, counter tops, etc. This technique is especially useful where there is a seam to ensure both sides are equally smooth.
As a result, neither your hands nor your tools will be held in tension while viewing the bars. It is exactly the right size for standing upright unsupported and to adjust your tools or table tops without using your arms. With a linear edge of 24 inches, we have The square edge of the 38 inch straight edge has a tolerance of .001". The straight edge has a tolerance of .002" and the 50" straight edge has a tolerance of .005". There is a tolerance of .003".

Questions & Answers

To what extent is flatness accuracy (TIR) important? Those who have commented said, "It is flat, and it is straight." And so on. Is it true that none of those terms have any meaning with regard to ?

It is only stated by the manufacturer to be TIR/TIM specifications are not provided, nor do they have a tolerance of .003". As a result, I took that to mean it is within. Over the length of the bar, the bar measures 003 inches. While the bar was being set on the inside, I thought I could not see any light under it, even though it was set to align the jointer tables To put or to put out Put the tables into place. Upon completion of the alignment, there was no light under the bar when spanning the two tables, and I could not slide the bar. Under the bar I placed a 0015 feeler gauge, which is the smallest gauge I own. After alignment, any two pieces of wood passed over the cutter head and placing the two machined surfaces edge to edge, did not show any The alignment of woodworking equipment can be done with this.

I'm glad to meet you. Will this work as a router guide so that straight edges can be made ?

Hi there, I agree that this would be useful as a router guide, but I think there are cheaper and better alternatives. Within this is a flat area. I consider it to be a precision tool since there are .001" across the 50" length of the rule. The table saw top can be precisely aligned with the level, and a jointer table, as well as the outfeed of the planer, can also be accurately aligned with it. It has worked fine when I use a cheap Harbor Freight ruler as a straight edge.

In the description, there is a lot of confusion. There is a mention of a set of three and then a statement that all three bars are Does this set really consist of 3 pieces?

(Different lengths) I bought a set of 3 straight edge bars for my project. It is also possible to purchase them separately if you wish. *br>I am happy with the purchase I made. Exactly what I expected

These straight edges are made of steel -- can they be laid on their side for aligning router table fences, miter saw fences, etc.?

Both the top and bottom of the fence are perpendicular so when they are laid side by side on the fence the flat edge will be perpendicular to the fence

It is a very accurate description
5/5

My machine shop scanned and fluxed a block with these edge gears, and found that they measured the low spots and the straight edges PERFECTLY, so I'd say these straight edges looked pretty.

There are flat and true sides, but odd ones as well
5/5

Therefore, I tested them on a flat surface that I know has a straight edge. In other words, they were right It is already easier to set up. Only thing I did not like about this is the curved sides, which made it difficult to clamp down if necessary. These are easy to take care of thanks to the edge guards and hanging holes. The bottom line is it is better to have than not to have.

It is wonderful to achieve such high levels of accuracy
5/5

The reason I was so glad to have them was that I could use them to dial in my infeed and outfeed tables on my thickness planer. Additionally, I use them to straighten out the extensions of my side tables on my table saw. In addition to these uses, they've also served other purposes.

Referral that is reliable and straight to the point
5/5

Having these edges is a must if you are planning on making circular saw guides or other jigs. By not having these reference points you will be forced to make a jig with a small (maybe impossible to see) deviation, which will appear in all future cuts. We are forever. In the same way, we can construct our own router tables, router fences, etc.
I am very satisfied with my purchase, I strongly recommend it to my.

Straight all the way
5/5

Whenever I saw other reviews on straight edges of similar price ranges, I was worried about flatness. In my kitchen, I checked the granite countertop to make sure it was flat, but in fact it wasn't true flat as most people would believe. The edges of the slab are dead flat when checked on a graded granite slab.

According to my expectations, I got what I wanted
4/5

I got exactly what I expected when I opened the package. I was pleased with the packaging and how they were not damaged. Since I am an amateur, I don't know that the specs about straightness are accurate, but they meet my needs.
