Products from Starrett are always of the highest The extra charge is well worth it. The rails I purchased were intended to act as reference rails for my Coordinate Measuring Machine and they were much more precise than they were supposed to be. A slight improvement has been made here. It was mentioned that the packaging of this product was poor in some reviews. A slight improvement has been made here. My package came with a rubber band attached to a piece of wood, probably to keep it safe during The narrow faces were perfectly straight, but it was warped by 0. When I checked mine on a granite surface plate, I found the warp was 0. 0. I went in the opposite direction with "006". Even though it doesn't matter because the faces you use are straight, I still didn't expect any imperfection in a Starrett product. Still, I found it to be effective, as I could check the flatness of a cylinder block with it.

Shipping was incredibly well done, the product was well made and packaged! It was extremely well packaged, so I was worried it might get damaged as it was being shipped

We were thinking if Starrett had debugged the edges after grinding, it sure would have been nice. I think there's a problem with poor quality control.
