I purchased the 12 inch for squaring a tablesaw, and I believe the extra length was beneficial. It all depends on what you want to accomplish.
I got one a while back and it's become a main tool in my shop. I'd like to have Woodpeckers products, but the price is out of my price range. On the plus side, my Woodraphic Signature Precision square had a bunch of holes that I use on my projects and the advantage that Woodpeckers does not have.
As precise a square as you can make it. I've never needed to tighten mine; I use it every day and it's always "right."

I also checked the holes at different lengths and found that this square is accurate. I've seen a lot of reviews claiming that the pencil or Allen wrench (both of which are listed as included) are missing. The Allen wrench in mine was missing. I mean, it's just an Allen wrench, but when you pay $70 for a square, you expect it to come with everything you need. I contacted the seller to inform them that it was missing, and they basically told me to begin the return process. Wow, that's a lot of torque for an Allen wrench. I guess that's what customer service looks like these days. To summarize, exceptional, above-average square customer service requires calibration.
Reviews should never be written. This square, on the other hand, is dead square. I've been working with wood for decades, yes, decades. For more than 30 years, I've been using Swedish square. New jigs were built, but the results were not as expected. After purchasing the 8-inch, I discovered that my old squares were no longer square. Have an Incra square? This tool is perfectly 90 degrees, just like an Incra square. I just ordered another 8 inch and a 12 inch from (Woodraphic). The majority of old squares are being discarded. If you're having trouble getting the right angle cuts you want, replace your squares, re-calibrate your saws, and get back to enjoying woodworking. br>Similar Woodpecker tooling is prohibitively expensive. br>br>UPDATEbr>A new order for both a 12 inch square and an additional 8 inch square arrived today. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it. Both new squares are 90 degrees, just like the first. I double-checked them in every way I could think of: drafting triagles, pencil flip test, against Incra, machinests square, high dollar combination squares Take a look at these high-quality woodworking tools.
This is disappointing because the item has great reviews and is warranted for people who use the metric system but not for people who use inches, and its major flaw is that the handle is not flush to 1" or there is a complete defect in my product, which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to using it and making it a staple product when working on projects. In the end, I'll have to return it because it's not set up correctly for Inches, but it'd be fantastic for Metric.
Both the 12inch and 4inch ones were just returned to me. To begin with, they're square! Wonderful and far less expensive than other "red" squares, but with similar design, features, and accuracy. Mine are being returned because the scribing holes are too small to accommodate ANY. Apart from the cheap plastic version that comes with these, a 5 mm mechanical pencil is recommended. This makes me very angry, but I tried all of my pencils and none of them fit. I have a few other rulers from companies like Incra and Woodpeckers that I can use with any of my pencils. Unfortunately, this is not the case here, and as a result, I am unable to use the scribing feature.
If you've ever used Woodpecker or Incra measuring tools, you'll recognize this as a perfect love child of the two. After owning a few Woodpecker tools, I've decided that this square is my favorite. It's incredibly light and well-made. I particularly like the fact that the ruler isn't as thick as the Woodpecker's. Also, the pencil holes are extremely convenient. I was tempted to give it four stars because of the price, but I didn't because I truly believe this square is worth the money; I'll be ordering all of the different sizes, and it's time to brush up on my mm skills.
It's been more than a month since I got it. It's the woodworking square that I always reach for. It's what I use to mark table saw and miter saw cuts, as well as double-checking squareness on CNC router parts. I got a lot more than I expected for the money. It's just as good, if not better, than the exorbitantly priced anodized red woodworking measurement tools named after a drilling bird. br>br>I'd recommend it without hesitation. Just make sure you have a safe place to store it within your drawer so it doesn't fall off the side of a bench and onto the floor below.
I wanted to get this square because it appeared to have a lot of advantages; it combines the best features of the Woodpeckers square and the Incra marking rulers with holes, and at this price, I couldn't pass it up. It squares up perfectly to my Woodpecker 851 and all of my Faithful machinist squares, indicating that it is certainly as accurate as the more expensive models. It's simple to read, and the included pencil is comparable to both Incra and Woodpecker pencils. They're not quite as sturdy as the Woodpecker squares, but I suppose that's the price to pay for the marking holes. Even so, it's very sturdy and doesn't bend under pressure, so I don't have to worry about it breaking or bending if I drop it. This has become my go-to square for most of my marking and measuring, as well as squaring up my work, blades, and fences. I have no regrets about purchasing this product.
Because of the powerful, it feels good in the hand; the length is (305 mm), and there are holes for pencils on all lengths. Insertion and drawing are both 5 mm thick. I checked a small gauge square "2" accuracy class (the angle stays well), and the line thickness was 2mm. Note that Woodraphic Precision Squares is 300mm (only works as a square, no pencil holes), while Woodraphic MACHINIST Precision Squares is 300mm (ruler for measuring and marking). They are worth different amounts (79. The score was 97 to 69 in favor of the home team. 97). For the excellent product and delivery, we owe a special debt of gratitude to Woodraphic sellers and honest Amazon. As advertised, it works well. GUYS, don't give up!.
