These served no purpose. The construction is of poor quality. I'm not sure what's happened to Brown. Sharpe for putting out such a dreadful set of gages. They wouldn't slide smoothly, and even the tiniest tightening of the knob would lock them in place, making it impossible to get anything close to a correct reading. They felt caked with sand inside all six of them, so I returned them right away.
They're not what they used to be. They used to be the best, but now they're worthless. They've never worked right since I got them. With very little use, it broke in less than a month. They have lost customers for the rest of their lives, and I work in a tool. making of dies My coworkers all came to the same conclusion as me.
Worked perfectly, and I was able to repeat measurements without losing a tenth of an inch.
Excellent quality at a reasonable price. I'm not going to buy Harbor Freight again because it's so cheap. This item has made me extremely happy. Telescoping gages with a high level of accuracy. Additionally, you appear to be attractive.
Very useful tool in assisting us in producing the parts we require with precision and relaying measurements to machinists.
00 more than the SPI set, for a total of $117. 00 more than a set made in China. This was a complete waste of money. I see very little difference between these "American made" sets and other chinese sets I've seen in the past, and Brown and Sharpe should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on this product, as the 6" gage flops around due to the excessive clearance in the slides. When fully extended, this item measures 030" in length. I understand that when the gage is locked, this is not the case, but I expect more from Brown and Sharpe. The slides move in a jerky, sand-like manner, the locking mechanism feels cheap and inconsistent, and the fit and finish is barely fit for a harbor freight set. This gage set, as well as Brown and Sharpe as a whole, has disappointed me. Brown and Sharpe conjures up images of quality in my mind. That is not the case.
