Questions & Answers

How are the letters and numbers inscribed on the plate? Is it painted on or are they engraved in?

Inscribed on the plate are letters and numbers

Have the numbers and letters been painted or graved Thanks so much?

An engraved plaque

Did it originate in a specific place?

Neither does he know, nor will he You can ask me to look it up for you if you like.

Do you know if a guage such as this can also be used to measure bolt and screw sizes or is it only for measuring ?

The product would not be useful for measuring bolts or screws, to my knowledge. When measuring bolt diameters or machine screws using a screw plate / diameter gage, not only is the diameter determined, but also the thread pitch as well You can buy boxes of wood screws of any size, fine or coarse. If you want your wood screws in separate organizers, just buy a few boxes of #4's through' #10's and place the label, along with the screws, in the box. It will only take you 15 minutes to know whether you are dealing with a #6 or a #8. In order to measure their length, the only thing that is needed is a gage.

The product is of high quality
4/5

It saves a great deal of time. I find the product very useful as it saves me time and helps me keep track of things. For a while, I didn't get one of these and kept holding off buying one. Having finally pulled the trigger has made me very happy. The mics are so useful when you have a lot of random drills and don't want to take the time to mic them all. You can also use these when drilling a hole into a hard to reach area It is essential to have a fastener in the right hole. The size of the drill hole that the fastener passes through can be found simply by taking the fastener. As I'm sure most of us have experienced, having held the fastener up against a drill and ensuring the hole was the right size, only to realize the hole was too small or too large after drilling. The gauge eliminates the possibility of that happening. This is the same procedure I use for a 1/2" piece of plywood that I use all my Forstner bits for. If you can take the part and see if it will pass through before you buy it, it makes choosing the correct size much easier. It already has been mentioned that my only complaint would be this. Due to the fact that they do not contrast with the steel, the fractional sizes can be hard to read. In order to fix this, I lightly sprayed the entire gauge black and carefully wiped away the face. Indented steel leaves spray paint that contrasts with the light gray finish of the spray paint. In summary, I think this product is great. If I lost my current one, I would purchase another.

The product is great, the design is top notch
5/5

The gauges and indexes Huot produces are excellent. The software works well and is easy to use without any extra fuss. There is an extra thick coating on top of the plate. There are not many things I can say about the product other than they could deburr a bit better in the factory, but this can be remedied in about 1 minute with a file and hand reamer. In any case, it will still do the job as described, even if you don't want it to. Chinese products don't appeal to me as much as Huot products.

A fractional drill gauge by Huot
4/5

This is exactly what I've been searching for for a long time to identify those random bits I always seem to bump into when digging through drawers or trying to find the right I rated it as a 5- only because the fact that the book wasn't written by a woman Due to the time I spent deburring the sharp edges so I would not hurt myself while handling it, I gave it three stars. Before they were packaged and offered for sale, the product should have been wrapped around a deburring tumbler one more time. The edges of those tables were incredibly sharp! After I stoned down the outside edges with a coarse aluminum oxide stone, using an old countersink to break off that sharp edge on the back, I put the interior into the oven at a low temp until ready for use. The hole on the right side of the measuring tape. The following form was also filled out by me With the stamped fractional sizes, the numbers are black lacquer stick, which tends to make them somewhat easier to identify against the shiny metal plating of the tool. I would recommend adding a drill bit drawer to my tool box since it is now an incredibly useful tool.

It was a good investment
4/5

My garage needed a drill bit gauge, and I found this to be useful. After the gauge was shipped from the seller, it was neatly wrapped in a manilla envelope. When I removed the gauge from the envelope, however, I found that it had several scratches on either side, as if it had been used or thrown into a bucket after drilling. Even though I don't think the scratches bother me, please do not expect a polished piece of metal from this. With the exception of the scratches, though, the gauge measures drill bits accurately, the measurements are engraved (not painted), and the gauge The scratches are the only reason I gave this a 4 star rating, and I think they could do better in this area.

Suitable for the job, however pay attention to the My main complaint about this product is the finish
3/5

I can deal with the scratches but was not happy about cutting my finger trying to remove it from the package. I deburred the edges and the back side of the punched holes, now it's fine.

This heavy duty identification label is perfect for drilling bits
5/5

Through the years, I have collected a large amount of drill bits that have been thrown in a bin over the years. My first attempts to organize them by size quickly turned into frustration when I realized how difficult it was to find out their markings and diameters, It proved to be just the right tool for my needs, much to my liking. The bit is thick enough so that you cannot bend it, and it makes identifying drill bits a breeze (and it is even fun)! As a result, it made the initial organization faster as well as made everything 100% clear as to the size of each bit (no guesswork involved). I can check the sizes again quickly and know where to put them in when I pull out 4 or 5 different parts and forget where I put them. I can also see the sizes when I pull out two or three bits and forget where they went. It's a very handy product that is of high quality. While I was not as clear-eyed as the other reviewer (s), I did notice a few sharp edges that needed retouching The burring process.

While it will suffice for what you need, there are other products which are much better
3/5

A gauge by Irwin (12092) and this one were purchased. Although this one cost about $2 less, it is not as well finished as the one above. Because the gauge is stamped and the edges are not ground (polished), all the edges are sharp. In this case, the Irwin product, the size is printed in white and is entirely covered by a black powder coat (with a matching red stamp on the back to prevent it from rubbing Although both are adequate, the one that looks poorly finished will not do the job. Unlike Irwin, where there is a measurement in both inches and millimeters, the markings on this are in inches only.

This is a good enough home for it
5/5

Although I haven't used calipers to check the accuracy of the machining, I found that every bit fit into the corresponding holes very well and that there was no piece that wouldn't go through the holes. The homeowner considers this to be good enough.
