What is the difference between the north masks from the 5500 series and the north masks from the 7700 series?

The face piece is made of a different material than the rest. Elastomeric is used in the 5500 series, while silicone is used in the 7700 series. I've been wearing a half mask for 40 years and find it to be very comfortable

This is the fourth one I've owned, and I've enjoyed them all (third half mask). The full face mask is great for attic work or spraying poison, so I bought it as a backup and possibly for my wife. The half masks are versatile and comfortable to wear for a variety of tasks. I got the kind with filters that you can replace by popping it open and inserting a new one, which is much less expensive than replacing the entire cannister. This one was purchased to replace one that was damaged by a broken harness. Because parts are expensive, I decided to just buy a new one and save the old one for parts if I ever needed them. My only piece of advice is to keep in mind that they come in three sizes: small, medium, and large, so you may want to do some research to ensure you get the right one.
