Filters are commonly used to remove dust, powder, and sand from a system. If you're doing home projects, I'd recommend the 3M 60923 or 60926, both of which have a built-in P100 particulate filter, to protect you from organic vapors such as paint fumes, cleaning chemicals, and evaporating gasoline. Smoke and carbon monoxide are not protected by vapor cartridges, and I would also advise you to avoid ammonia.

It's also worth noting that the medium mask smelled fine when I first received it, whereas the small mask has a strange odor (like a rubbery odor?). ) but hopefully it will dissipate once it has had a chance to air out. Because I have chemical hypersensitivities, this is especially important to me. Otherwise, it's very comfortable to wear this mask for long periods of time (I've worn it for over 8 hours without issue). The valves keep it from getting too hot or humid, which keeps my face from becoming oily. When I used the size medium, I bought some silicone pads and attached them to the plastic of the head strap for added comfort during long periods of use, but I may not need them for the size small because it doesn't need to be as tight to fit my face well. Others with chemical sensitivities and/or lung issues who require a quick and simple solution breath- I recommend using the 3M Advanced Particulate Filter 2297 P100 as a through filter with this respirator. Of course, it depends on the types of exposures you'll be exposed to, but they're designed to filter out organic fumes and have a low resistance. Again, this is merely an idea - br>br>Do your homework first. br>br>While the sizes Medium and Small appear to be similar on the surface, they fit very differently. My 5'11" heavyset husband fits into the medium, while I fit into the small. It worked like a charm. After my mother's house was flooded during a hurricane, I purchased these for us to clean up. A friend who works in the hazmat industry suggested them. They helped to mask the stench of a rotten fridge, and I would definitely recommend them.
According to some older reviews, the product was used and reeked of chemicals when it arrived. Fortunately, mine did not, and the negative feedback was taken into account. Mine arrived in perfect condition, sealed and smelling like new. I can breathe 100 times better than I could with a piece of paper, a cloth, or N-gas. As the weather cools, I won't have to worry about vapor dampening the mask as I switch environments. I'm a size 8 female, and the small is perfect for me. 5 stars for a $10 respirator that is durable and easy to use for occasional shop, yard, or garage work. br>However, at 5'6 and 140 pounds, the Small Size was TOO small for me; the Medium Size was a good fit. br>br>My only caveat with these, and the reason I mentioned only using them occasionally, is that if you want to talk to someone or even just shout something out, you must remove the strap from your head each time. 3M is a company that sells a product that can be used in a hurry. This problem is effectively solved with the latch version.

It was a perfect fit, allowing me to breathe freely and completely sealing the seal. When exhaling, the flaps are very effective. My main gripe is quite serious. It has a strong fabric softener odor to it. It's as if someone sprayed a floral scent on the mask to cover up the vinyl smell. I have a condition that makes me extremely allergic to a wide range of chemicals. I may have to return this because of the spray they used to mask the mask's natural odor. I'm hoping to wash it away with water, but it's so strong that I'm not optimistic. I'm not sure why someone would put chemicals in their face mask.
Not new. This is an open-ended question. Item is in its original packaging and has been used. I bought a size medium in a store and know what it should look like when it's brand new. Very let down. This isn't stated explicitly in the description.
