To repair my rubber garden hose which is notorious for leaking, I used this fitting. Fitting the fitting on the hose is a little tricky, but I managed to get the hose to fit with a little persuasion. My clamps were easy to tighten and I no longer need to worry about hose leaks. Your hose can be repaired in this manner for a much lower price. It's just a matter of time before a second rupture occurs!.
It wasn't clear to me why, but I had previously purchased plastic barb splices in the same size, and they seemed to fit much more compactly. They do not have the same bite as brass splices, and if you do not clamp them really tight, they will pop loose.
My guess was that the dimensions in the listing on Amazon were inaccurate, There is a 1/2 inch difference between the outside diameter of the barbed connector shown in the picture and the reality. I'm sure that they will work perfectly for me. There is a dimension in the picture within 1/2 inch of what is shown in the listing.

They are exactly what we had ordered. I was afraid they might be made of plated steel that would rust over time since it was not mentioned how the hose clamp was made. I am pleased to see that they are stainless steel! In the ad, that information should be mentioned.
There were 5/8" unions and clamps included in the package, so I only had to reinstall them A screwdriver and knife are all that is necessary for joining the pipes.
I gave it 3 stars because the picture was misleading they need to post a picture of the real item. The real item is 5/8, but I thought the picture represented it to be smaller. I needed 3/8 for the part it was fine but I.
