To fasten the temporary fuel line, you may want to use fuel injector type hose clamps. That is what I used to reduce my temporary rubber fuel line from 5/16 to 3/8.
There is no problem fitting half a tube in it.
I don't have any problem with it, of course.

It was close enough to a hose measuring 1/2inch in ID, but not tight enough for hose clamp to work.
The order was received on Tuesday after being placed on Saturday! Our old dishwasher line was just what we needed to connect the new plumbing underneath our sink to our old. A 4 out of 5 is the only mark I gave it because of the price. According to the local stores, they had similar items for less cost, but none were this high-quality.

I used it to set up a hydroponic garden quickly and easily. It worked great, was easy to install and never leaked.
In other words, it was a perfect fit. For my Ryobi generator, I ordered a new fuel tank. I have noticed that it is different from the previous design. A larger line needed to be adapted to my fuel line. It fits and no leaks have occurred since.
A good tight fit was evident on each side of the hose fitting. It had clearly defined ribs at each end. The fitting was perfectly suited to my needs.
On my 77 Corvette, I used to step down my brake booster to the intake vacuum. The quality is good.
