Unless you used rubber grommets and/or plumbers' tape to seal it, I'm not sure the box would be air-tight.

It was time to replace the air chuck on my portable compressor, but I couldn't find one with a barb, so I ordered one with a threaded air chuck and installed this barb to complete the kit. The hose fit right into my air hose and threaded right into the chuck without any issues. Buying this is a good decision.

purchased a number of random bits and pieces and everything worked. I am impressed with the connectors' It was very easy to fit the barbs and they were snug (I would have been content without a clamp). The threads sealed up very nicely without having to over tighten them. I only work with quality products.
