A barb should have a diameter greater than 5/8 for 5/8 hose, the smallest diameter of the barb should be 5/8, and the barb should have a larger diameter Barbs with a diameter of 5/8 are the largest and are not designed to bite into the hose, and a clamp will not do a better job of sealing it than straight Fitting leaks are the net result of this.

I need a bigger OD! I am disappointed

My garden hose easily fits in this. The tape is going to build up quickly and clamps will be used extensively. To know it has to be stretched to seal, how smart do you have to be? It is actually zero out of the box. A theoretical score of 770 and a practical score of There is a stretch of 20. There should be a minus sign here It would be about 0. 3 times that amount. You need to use code "050" to work correctly. I am disappointed.

This barb might be loosely fitted on my 3/4" hose, causing my hose to feel swollen or expanded.

A good fit

A glass of boiling water softened the hose nicely and I attached it easily with no problem. A real 3/4 hose adapter is hard to find, but this is one, so I like it. I would buy this product.
