Questions & Answers

I am going to go from a single phase to three phase setup using a 10hp air compressor. Would this work on that? Could there be an option that is larger that would suit this application better?

Unless it malfunctions, this converter operates at 50 hertz, and the ramp up from 0 to 50 hertz is slow. Using it on a 30" band saw that has a very difficult start, and it works flawlessly. If you want to wire the VFD in its place, you must remove the factory switch on your compressor, and I am not sure what the wiring for the pressure switch looks like. This VFD will convert single to three phase, but only with a little extra work.

The unit has an automatic power off feature Do you start the program when your ?

The option can be set if you choose it. When set to no, the default is

Is this able to power a 1950s 10hp 3 phase American toolworks pacemaker lathe when it is single phase or 220 volts? I do not have 3 phase service. How can I fix this?

Yes, that is what this is designed to achieve

Do the VFDs have analog inputs so that a PID loop can control speed?

do not believe it, but perhaps My knowledge of tech questions is beyond yours, so I am unable to answer your question. A remote speed control is with analog 1K variable controls that are powered from the VFD itself using either 5VDC or 10VDC. As a result, remote speed control can be turned on and off through an There is no way I can tell whether or not Id loops, no matter what they are. Another option is to use a long ribbon cable to remotely mount the small push button control panel. If you are performing the remote speed control with a 5VDC or 10VDC regulation, you have to set the software up The process isn't intuitive, especially if you don't know how to speak China, English, or Mandarin. Please be aware that you may have to make more than one attempt in order to You can do it, but you may have to try several times. Make sure you have a pencil and paper on hand *br> *br>Best of luck, Chris

I'm working on it! When I saw this price, I was amazed by how well the system worked
4/5

I actually purchased it The system has a 5 HP rating at both 230V and 460V. The three phases will run on 230v split-phase power. A Scotchman 90T Ironworker with three phases (or just one phase if you like better). In fact, I added the remote control so that I could control the drive in my face and the AC unit in the back where there is no possibility of it hitting me, There was no sign of a chip or something getting inside. It work flawlessly or almost. I usually use Mitsubishi drives, but this one has a remote that I like at a fraction of the price. I didn't expect it to work, but I'm pleased with it. I purchased it for the price. It's not the best. There are a few things that I dislike. Inability to move due to back pain and limitations Applications determine the extent to which it depends. I found the instructions to be both confusing and unrealistic as expected. There is no clear reference to the ground and the pin identification for the connection strip is different from the one It does look like UVW and RST are clear, however Ro and R1 are probably for a resistor that does not work, check back with me. In addition, the first "ES" or "E" or connector "1" (depending on how you look) is the ground, the frame and the earth and should be green as well. The dynamic break does not work, but there is a way to do it. I find it very fine, but if you are driving a cutting tool and you need to stop fast, look for a drive that has this option or go with another drive that does and pay a little more. In terms of the software and parameters, the software and parameters This is a good up but its instructions are a mess and will confuse * I don't know if it's just me, but I couldn't get the pot (Speed control) to work when I use a separate amplifier Are you sure you want to stop installing? And finally (it is more bitching) that nosy little fan that does its work all the time and there is something wrong with little fan. Using a parameter, you are able to The thermostat turns on and off based on the power supply. I have mine set to start at a certain temperature, but mine turn off when the electricity is removed, regardless of whether the thermostat is on or off. It's not necessary to add a light to tell me that the machine is on. yeah, I forgot the split phase / 3-phase intake issue, which is The book clearly states that you should use - As of this writing, it has 3 phases and is not listed as In the selection, it says split phase, in the video and on the web, it says split phase. The truth is, R, T, and S have nothing to do with single phase geos. What I consider to be my five. A 5KW transformer draws 45Amps "stall" 230VAC, but it can give me a nice 21Amp 3ph output. I was wondering what you expected me to get for that price. I can use it now. I rate it a 5* in my application but not a 5 in my application. In the market, prices are determined by Instead of adding a contactor, it would be better to add the connector Having more controls and a lot of power will save you time and money and allow you to be more versatile. This component is a crucial one for almost any three-phase machine.

Yes, that is what I recommend I used it for securing an application, but it wasn't implemented for safety-related purposes or an application with a quoit.

I think someone is going to get hurt
3/5

As of now, I'm trying to fix a faulty resistor. Despite many emails back and forth, I was told the top of their line 7 is what I need. I'm not sure what the problem is. Since the 5kW model is the only one that comes with a resistor, I spent a little extra money on it many emails later, I was informed that a 1000W 75 OHM resistor should work. When I hit the stop button while the bandsaw was running, it instantly exploded with my hand on it! Everything was wired and connected correctly from their videos, I just hit the start and let it get up to speed. Sparks blew out of the side vents both directions for a distance of three feet. I published a photo of my three phase motor as proof that it is indeed a three phase motor when I was told that the motor had to be three phase. In my next step my wiring was incorrect, so I sent photos to be told that it was incorrect I was instructed to connect it exactly as I had done. Then after sending a home video of all my connections and terminations, I was informed I had connected my resistor incorrectly. Here's what you need to know. Instead of connecting to the coil terminals, I should be connecting to the brackets that hold the resistor in place!" A resistor might be cheaper, but it sounds more like a jumper. As it turned out, the unit was actually running my bandsaw, yet if breaking wasn't a viable function, why sell it as having it then run me in circles if it explodes! The source claims they're going to send another unit, so I guess I won't use a breaking resistor if they do send a new unit since I cannot find any useful or accurate information online. It appears that I was given bogus information about the value of the resistor, as I have seen a part work in videos of these units. Does anyone have any confirmation on the value of the resistor? A 220 3 horsepower 2 engine is available to me. The two-kilowatt 60 Hz power supply has a rating of Running a 24" bandsaw with a 1A motor in delta configuration.

I like the video display
5/5

The VFD I purchased will be used to power a 7KW motor. A 3 phase motor has a power output of 5 hp from 230 volts. All of the functions work as they While I have not yet played with all the settings, like ramp up time and ramp down time, it is set at 20 seconds, which is fine. Going from single phase to three phase requires a lot of power on the single phase end, so longer ramp times reduce inrush power. In order for my motor to drive at twice its nameplate speed, I changed the maximum frequency from 60hz to 120hz. So the default speed of the motor is 1725 rpm, but I usually run it at 3450, or somewhere in the middle.

With this, you feel like you're getting what you pay for
3/5

The first time I bought it, I thought it was a great deal. My experience after trying all the settings has shown that it's not very good. All you need to do is run it at a single speed to get it working. Compared to my Hitachi prior to this, I found the additional money to be well worth it. A 100 fold improvement in the number of options and the ease of setting it up. Support is not available at all. Be sure to check out forums before you buy one of these. This is a bad thing.

I like it a lot
4/5

It was a fast arrival and they quickly resolved the The VFD is great, I drive a 10HP elevator motor with it, controlled by an Arduino. However, HY did not answer my questions about brake resistor sizing, and the manual is very hard to understand. They should pay some technical English speakers to edit the I did not have any problems with the VFD itself, and I would highly I remember there were a few segments that were not functioning on the display after I received the device. New control units were sent out as soon as possible.

This VFD is excellent for the price
5/5

I have four of them running different pieces of equipment at different places in my shop, since I purchased them, and I've been thoroughly satisfied with their performance. To date, there have been no issues, but the oldest is probably 4 or 5 years old and the fan might need to be replaced. Lastly, I absolutely love that the newest ones only power the fan when the equipment is running and that it automatically shuts it off after a minute of stopping it. * br>* br>The manual can be tricky to understand, but there are numerous YouTube videos to guide you through. This is a no-brainer if you need to run a 3 phase motor on single phase, and makes operation much more pleasant by soft starting the motors and allowing variable speed to control the motors Even if I had three phase power, I would leave them in the machines at this point.
