This is an upcut bit, which means the spiral flutes are cut in such a way that when the bit is rotated clockwise, it cuts from "bottom to top." It's better for rougher cuts because it has two flutes, and a smoother surface finish requires slower feed rates or higher rpm.

For the price, this is an excellent milling tool; it worked flawlessly in 7075 forged aluminum. It appears to be wearing at a normal rate, and the finish and tolerance were both excellent.
The 6061 was not successfully cut by the cutter. Before clogging, the lats cut about 3 inches.
Very quick delivery, and the tool was exactly what was advertised.
This is insane, I have to say. Of course, if your feeds and speeds are set correctly, aluminum milling is a breeze. It's my first time using it, so I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep it up. Scarves are cut.
