For milling 80% lowers, I used it as a replacement for a "hybrid end mill" that ships with the 5D Tactical Jig. After buying a 5/16" collet from Elaire Corp. , it is paired with a DeWalt DWP611. It was no problem cutting through the 7075 lower. So far I've only machined two lowers, but they still seem sharp to me. We used WD-40 and a liquid wrench It is recommended to use cutting lube 40.
It's all about feeds and widgets The key to speed and lubrication is speed. These tools have always performed well for me and I own quite a few from this company. I have milled materials such as M2, stainless steel, titanium, and carbon steel It has been working well inconell. It's still a good time to invest in tools.
A little pricey, but it gave me the depth of cut I needed, so it was worth it. This is a good end mill, I needed more length and this was the best choice for what I needed.
I was satisfied with the result. The cut was nice and clean and seems like it will last a long time.
I am cutting it as we speak, and it is working perfectly. Having seen many endmills, I was surprised to find all of them have a flat spot on the outside of the cylinders A part that cuts away so that the mill holder can lock onto the set screw. However, that does not apply here. I don't like the way it works There is a constant rotation of the mill in the holder, but it This item will be returned.
I expect that it will work. The cutting of hardened steel at one-sixteenth depth can result in a slight deflection.
Exactly what I was looking for.
The quality of the metal cutting is not known at this time. I needed to mill the lower half of a polymer 80% assault rifle. It works very well. Butter cuts through it like nothing else. Although I cannot comment on how well it cuts metal, the machine is perfect for building an ar15 lower.
