Questions & Answers

Can you tell me how big the shank is?

It's called the Bridgeport Shank (the Standard R8 It means the smaller end of the spectrum There will be a 949" end and a larger end if it 26 1/2" The length of the shank is 4 inches The thread size of the drawbar is 7/16 Thanks a lot.

How can I replace aluminum inserts with the best ones?

In addition to a polished surface and large rake angle, the inserts are designed with an uncoated carbide surface. In general, they're used to machine materials that are not metals Aluminum is one example of an alloy that is not ferrous. Cast iron is said to work well with these tools for semi-machining.

How many rpms were people using to run this? From 250 to 2200 PMs have been suggested thus far. The statement does not make any ?

You can learn about speed and feed by looking it up. If you search for that phrase, you'll find what you're looking for. The answer depends on what you're cutting, how deep you cut, lubrication and machine rigidity as well as how you hold the tool.

What is the maximum level of cut that man can take (per pass) with the tool when working with ?

In addition to what others have stated, it really depends on many factors. This is more of a face mill than an end mill that takes deep cuts, so if you are looking for a deep cut, you should use an end mill designed for roughing and this for your finishing passes. The finish it has produced on titanium and 7075 aluminum is very smooth and it has been used on both materials.

I've never used a facemill for less than $200 before
5/5

The time period. My Bridgeport knee mill called for a low cost facemill, so I bought one for it. I was surprised by how well it worked! Using the tramming method, I was able to attain a nearly mirror finish to my head. The program performed so well that I wasn't expecting it! I have a couple of notes based on must reset the inserts before you use them. In mine, the surface finish was initially compromised as the screws weren't completely flush. 1) this face mill has only three cutters, therefore the speed is very high. 2k rpm is the speed at which it runs.

The piece I used is solid, and I ordered two more of different sizes after using this piece
5/5

The owner of my small business, John, is a very busy man he works full time, has four children and a wife, and wants to start his own company. Those of us who are in a similar position as myself value time highly, and writing reviews takes time. Due to its excellent performance, this is a product I feel is worthy of a few minutes of my time. My claim is that my milling skills are fairly new and that I sometimes don't know what to expect (finish-wise) from certain bits. People who have posted have described it as producing an almost mirror-like There was no disappointment for me. Aluminum blocks are going to be used to make jigs for my wood lathe. As I placed the blocks into place, I found that they had a few rough edges after they'd been cut up to size. I needed two pieces to slide against each other, and slide smoothly, without much resistance. This is a beautiful product, I bought two more sizes and they were delivered today as well. This is a very well made product. It fit perfectly into my R8 spindle and threaded in with no issues. The beef is so beefy, it does not slide or move as that would be dangerous. In fact, I am buying some new cutting blades just for the heck of it (there's nothing wrong with the ones I have, but I want some backups).

During the construction of superstructures, 1 piece rigid tool is required Surfaces that have a smooth finish
5/5

It has a phenomenal amount of face-to-face One of my favorite features of the R8 is its one-piece spindle. In addition to 2 and 3 piece assemblies, other designs are available. Face to face, however, things are entirely different. I prefer a single piece because it is stiffer and better. It was a two-way battle for me 3/4-inch wide 6061-t6 In 2024, we will have T6 With this 3" tool, you can pass through T3511 aluminum in one pass. A little bit of coolant was sprayed on the surface of the media as well as the feeds and speeds of 2500RPM and 45 inches/minute. Smoothness is now the dominating characteristic of the finish. It is the factory's responsibility - I'm happy with the way the carbides are installed thus In my tool drawer, I use the case to store the device, which comes in a large plastic case for physical protection. An investment that is well worth the money. The program runs well!.

It is one of the best facemills for its price
5/5

They were true out of the box, thoroughly torqued, inserts lined up within tenths of a millimeter, and form and fit seems to be excellent. A total of 68 IPM was tested with two different mills at full teeth engagement, and 90 IPM at half teeth The cut was so quiet that I thought there wasn't any That's what I thought. There is no chip formation, but there is a perfect mirror finish. All else being equal, I ran the same program with a Kennametal facemill and I did not notice any We are very satisfied with our purchase, and it was a Here are a few tips to help you succeed. If you plan to use this type of facemill, do your homework before you walk up to the machine. Take note of the feeds, speeds, and HP and record them. You should not guess who they are. You should double check your work after you have performed the math to two significant figures. When it comes to machining, a little research pays off. In addition, inserts are not universally applicable to all materials. For the metal you intend to mill, insert the appropriate insert into the machine. Catalogs of inserts provide detailed information about the metals they are designed to be used with. Three types of inserts are best to have on hand at all times ferrous, nonferrous, and brass, and they cover the majority of.

The tool seems to be of good quality and definitely performs well
5/5

As to how long it lasts, we'll have to see. This tool seems well built for a Chinese tool so far, no problems yet. So far, it has only cut aluminum but is easy to use, already torqued inserts are installed. Although few Chinese tools are actually good, most are of poor quality, but higher priced Chinese tools may prove to be of There appears to be a good quality of materials and a well-made product with this model. In case anything changes, we will update the post. It may be a bit aggressive to use a 3 inch cutter on such an old but well-maintained machine, so take light cuts. I will likely use a 2-inch cutter later. I plan to use an inch facing mill to see if it reduces the noise caused by the head when it is.

This product is built well and is a Since I had read so many reviews about these, I was hesitant to try them
5/5

In any case, I needed a facing mill tool for the mill and I am not yet good enough to justify buying a good one at 4x the price. The end mill cuts mild steel very well and leaves a fair In a final pass, a very shallow cut and low feed rate at high speed were used to produce Mild steel could be cut at a variety of speeds and depths with my machine.

The unit works perfectly and is well built
5/5

It is made in China, but the quality is very good and the price is reasonable. My other fly cutters are great, and they also work well, but this is just so easy to use that it is now my first choice for facing. They are quite hardy and you can buy them in bulk for a reasonable price if you buy them by the ten pack. There is nothing negative I can say about it, aside from the location where it is made. Definitely would buy another one. Next time, I'll probably go for a 3".

I have this installed on my G0704 mill, and it's a great product
5/5

The only metal I've used it on so far is aluminum. The product has been working flawlessly for me since I installed it on my G0704 mill. The only metal I've used it on so far is aluminum. The finish is very nice and mirror-like. It's nice that you can see the insert type on the cutter as well.
