started using my SainSmart desktop CNC, so I needed an Upcut End Mill for an aluminum project. These end mills have done an admirable job chipping away at my project. The desktop CNC is a bit lacking in construction, so I can only cut one inch thick. Per pass, there is a depth of 005. One of these end mills has been running for 100 hours and the quality of the cut has not changed at all. In the past, I have cracked one end mill when a part came loose during a cut, but that was my own fault for improperly setting up the material.
Using these bits to mill aluminum on desktop CNC machines is an excellent idea. With this product, you get five bits, which is good. The only negative thing about these bits is that they are uncoated, so they do go out pretty quickly when compared to coated bits. Apart from that, I do not have any Following a finishing percentage of 0, I was able to get a very smooth finish from facing. The number 002".
The feed rate is four inches per minute. A depth of 36 millimeters was used for the cut. The climb cut is 050 steps over.
Aluminium can be cut like butter with this blade. It would be recommended.
In aluminum, I milled several inches of 1/4" deep slots. They worked well and did not.
It's a pretty good cutter, I'm pretty happy with it. These parts were able to pass through hardened alloys when the toolpaths were fine-tuned and held up well on the softer alloys with lubrication. I ended up with a nice finished project since they completed their jobs on time. It seems to do pretty well for the money, especially since I'm only an occasional user and don't need to purchase much hobby gear.
End mills that are well made. Christmas presents could be personalized in heart boxes with names cut out.
While cutting aluminum, they can be broken by even the slightest side load. Cutting foam or soft wood might work, but cutting hardwood or aluminum won't. We'll save you money!.
