CUTTER FOR GENERAL APPLICATIONS - Speed Tiger 600 Nano carbide tools excel at working carbon steels (HB225), alloy steels (HB225325), pre-hardened steels (up to HRC45), hardened steels (HRC4045), cast iron, and more.
HIGH CUTTING PERFORMANCE FOR HARD MATERIALS - Cutter is made of Micro Grain Carbide, which is extremely tough, resistant to wear, and provides excellent cutting results.
AlTiBN COATING - A titanium aluminum boron nitride (AlTiBN) coating lubricates the end mill and provides superior wear resistance at high cutting speeds, outperforming TiAlN, TiN, and TiCN coatings in terms of heat resistance.
HIGH-QUALITY - Flutes ground by a world-class ISO-9001 factory; Excellent performance at a low cost

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to mount this in a drill press or a mag drill and use it on mild steel? I have a machinist vise, and I'd like to make some 1/2" 1/4 deep slots. ?

Carbide cuts through mild steel easily. It is not a good idea to use a drill chuck to hold the bit. If the chuck runs out of oil or wobbles, things can quickly go bad. Second, a machinist vice is one thing, but you'll also need something to control the feed x and y axis. It's entirely up to you if you have one of those drill press attachments. Backlash is usually enough to cause problems, especially when using a brittle carbide endmill. You might want to consider HSS, or "High Speed Steel," because it is less expensive and has some backlash and wobble tolerance. Good luck

What are the sizes of the bits?

Both the 5/16 and 3/8 had a length of 2 1/2". However, there are some fantastic parts.

Is it possible to use this in a dremel tool for fine woodwork?

Depending on the size of your dremel, I believe this is overkill for detailed woodwork. However, in theory, it is possible.

On Amazon, this is the best price for 1/2 carbide
5/5

I use these in production every day, and these two are still running at the end of the day. I'm currently spinning at 6000 rpm with a 3/4" DOC and a radial cut of. 058" in 304 stainless steel, DRY and COOLANT FREE (chips rooster tail 6 feet). Prepare yourself for this: The speed is 102" per minute! Even after 65 parts, I'm still cutting!.

It's a good bit, but it's prone to snapping
4/5

Please see the comments. UPDATE: I increased my rating from two to four stars. Customer service was extremely helpful and responsive, and they even reached out to me after seeing my original review. My spindle speed was too slow, and I discovered this. Obviously, it is dependent on the material, but these bits must be spun quickly, with a shallow depth and slow feed rate. My mill spins at a maximum of 2800 revolutions per minute. So I turned it up to 2800 rpm and took a shallower cut with a slow feed rate, and these things cut pretty well. At a faster spindle speed, I'm sure they'd work even better. They're still brittle, and if you put too much pressure on one side, they'll snap. They did the job I needed them to do in the end. br>br>Item arrived in good condition and appeared to be of high quality. These things snap at the slightest pressure, so I ordered the 1/16th size. Because they snapped so easily, I had to stop using them before I ruined my project. I tried a different set that I had and had no problems.

Sharp and abrasive
5/5

There have been a few reports of these bits breaking in the reviews I've read. I'm not sure what level of experience the reviewers who claimed the bits broke easily had, but I'm new to CNC. I've been planning on milling a 9MM 1911 slide for a while now, and I bought a Rock Island slide off of ebay to test it out. These slides are made of hardened steel, not stainless steel. I also experimented with some other Amazon purchases. Before I bought these, I burned through two bits. My converted harbor freight mini mill to cnc is running at the same speed, depth per pass, and RPM. The metal is being devoured by this piece. Of course, I'm doing very slow passes with very shallow depths. But it's working for me, and I'm overjoyed. Using the same settings and material, I have to assume that these are simply better end mills than the others I've bought on Amazon. I'm going to purchase some more:.

Excellent value for money
5/5

I'm new to machining, but I bought these endmills because they were inexpensive and I needed something that wouldn't require me to sell a kidney to replace if I made a mistake. After using these for a while, I have to say that they aren't half bad. I've never had one fail on me because of something I didn't do myself. Everyone who says they failed on them is just trying to avoid admitting they screwed up somewhere in their cam program or pushed it way too hard. I get a nice finish on aluminum with these, which is satisfying. Great product; I use them to make prototype parts for my company as well.

On stainless steel, this is ideal for freehand work
5/5

I needed these to cut stainless steel and placed an order for them. They cut a 1/8-inch stainless steel counter top sink hole perfectly. br>br> I used a router with speed control and set it to the lowest rpm setting, which was around 2,000 rpm. (The high speed of 30,000 was too fast, and the cutter overheated) with a vacuum for heat and chips With only a little heat, the endmill cut perfectly. Insulation below the cut is not melted. I'm going to order a second pack to give to some friends.

The build quality of these end-of-the-line products is impressive, especially for the price
5/5

I'm a hobby machinist who uses these with a Sherline mill fitted with a standard headstock and an optional 11K RPM spindle motor, and they're impressive, especially for the price. There is no discernible vibration even at 11000 RPM. The flutes are sharp throughout their 3/4" length and are made of solid carbide with highly polished shafts. When plunging into AL, the endmill cuts quickly and easily with minimal tool loading. I'd tell my friends about these.

Seller is fantastic! Fantastic items! Awsome! Let me begin by saying that these are fantastic aluminum end mills! But this time I needed a big one, so I ordered a 3/8"
5/5

It was first misplaced in the mail, and then when I received it, it was a very small one that I couldn't use. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> br>At first, I gave them two stars, but then I changed my mind. Even after I returned the item and received a refund, the seller reached out to me and offered to make things right. I understand the importance of ratings, but I've never had a seller contact me to apologize for a mistake. In my opinion, that is excellent customer service! br>br>I should also mention that I have milled aluminum and steel with several of the 5/16 size bits from this seller, and they are excellent bits. They last far longer than any other end mill in this price range that I've tried.

Sharp, abrasive, and precisely what you required and anticipated
5/5

For the past 30 years, I've used end mills. For the money, these are excellent end mills. They aren't Hurricanes, but neither have you paid Hurricane prices. These are razor-sharp and have a good grip on their edges. You should be aware, however, that this is a unique product. You're purchasing solid carbide because the job you're working on necessitates an end mill that is harder than the work piece. At 1/8 inch solid carbide, even the tiniest wiggle is enough to shatter it. It is impossible to have RC65 and above without becoming brittle. The image depicts an attempt to end mill a hole to remove a broken bit that was roughly the same hardness as the end mill. The end mill on the first end was grabbed and shattered. I went back in and finished the job with a second end mill.
