This is what I used on an X-ray mill to mill aluminum Then carve it. With a speed of 5 inches per minute. There is a stepdown of 005. Within the first 20 hours, I snapped 3 out of 5. I was right on the money. Fortunately, I am not disappointed at all.

This is done with a TiN surface. set of five identical CNC tool bits is individually packaged and made from solid Tungsten Carbide (TC). The bits measure 3/4" long and have a square flat nose that measures 1/4". In total, the overall length is two feet. For the bits, leave 5 inches between them. Titanium Nitride (TiN) is the most effective surface for enhancing wear resistance and heat resistance of CNC cutter bits used for steel machining. In my experience, I can use this for a plunge cut with my router, but it is really designed for metal cutting on a commercial CNC machine, not wood cutting. Sharp and well made, this knife is a good buy. Two examples of this solid TC bit set are shown in the following images. It is impossible to identify the protective tubes from their labels. When I receive equipment for that purpose, I will write them on them with a Sharpie and assemble them with my bits to allow me to machine steel. A cutting tool such as this is incredibly fragile Keeping an eye on your feeds and speeds is very important If you break them left and right, you will have no choice but to break them. I use them to mill pc boards for prototypes, but they are a bit slow in my opinion. While they are a bit large for many designs, they are a great place to start. You'd have to be incredibly careful when using them on harder materials such as steel, aluminum, and Bits this small have a very high degree of insensitivity to overloads, and cutting forces can build up very quickly for you. This was the first time I used these bits on some alum in my CNC. These have performed flawlessly, no complaints. The value is great, I'm tired of spending so much.
