Probably not, and it isn't even mentioned in the application specifications. br>Read the product's specification sheet on Amazon or the manufacturer's website.br>I found the product to be very simple to use.
I would recommend sealing the crack before applying the final top coat of this product; I did so, waited for it to dry, and then applied an overall coat of this. It turned out beautifully.

I only applied it a month ago, so it gets four stars. But, in an unusually rainy fall in the Pacific Northwest, everything has worked out so far. When a puddle formed in front of my gas fireplace insert, I tied a rope around the chimney and climbed to the roof. The chimney crown had cracks in it that appeared to be made of crumbly mortar. It's frustrating because I just paid a fortune for it from the mason. br>It was simple to use the product. There are a number of excellent YouTube instructional videos, including one in which a woman uses the product and talks about it throughout the entire process. I had to cover a lot of ground on a steep roof because I have a large chimney with three stacks. My work wasn't quite as tidy (bring a wet rag), and I believe I applied it too thickly because it wasn't quite set up when I climbed down. Shortly after, it began to rain again, but no water got in, and the area has remained dry ever since. From the street, it appears to be in good condition, and thus no water enters the chimney. It is highly recommended.
I was about to embark on a journey into the unknown, having never used a product like this before. It was time to apply after spending some time preparing the surface. The material looks and feels like finely ground oatmeal, and it's simple to apply with a poly 2 inch brush. When filling in small gaps, the first coat takes a little longer to complete. The second coat applies more smoothly and evenly than the first. Don't leave the container open for more than 10 minutes because the surface will start to set up. The following day, the surface was nice and solid, with no cracks. How long it lasts will be determined by the passage of time.
Spending money on high-end brands is a waste of money. It appeared to be of good quality and did exactly what it was supposed to do. All you have to do now is follow the instructions. It goes on smoothly and thickly. I applied two coats and it appears to be just as durable as the more expensive brands.
There are no more chimney leaks as a result of the great watertight result!.
I bought this for my chimneys because the cement was breaking up on them. I removed all of the broken loose pieces and recommended a chimney cap. I waited a few days for the cement to step up and then applied the crown sealer according to the instructions, doing a thin coat first and letting it dry for about 30-45 minutes. 45 minutes later, I applied a thicker second coat that completely covered my furnace chimney and my four-flue fireplace, leaving only a small amount of time for touch-ups in the spring if necessary.
I didn't have time to recap the chimney, so I went with this option, and I'm glad I did. It goes on thick, so I dumped it on the concrete and spread it out with a shabby old brush, mostly filling the deep cracks I have and smoothing out the rest. I let it dry for two days in 90-degree heat before applying a second coat to fill in the cracks and level it out. It has a very flat appearance and a super thick rubber glue-like feel to it. This will be my first Colorado winter with it, but I've tried other home depot stuff before that flaked off after two years, and this stuff appears to be bulletproof in comparison to how that other crap went on.
Because my chimney flues were in rough shape, I decided to use the product on them as well. I followed the instructions and came out with a good result!.
I just finished applying masonry sealer, so it's too early to tell how long it will last. I will say that it was simple to apply and that it provided adequate coverage. I have a three-stack chimney, and a half gallon was plenty to get the job done. The color ranges from off white to slightly gray, giving the crown a neat appearance.
