The cap's measurements are determined by the flue's outside dimensions. The cap sits on top of the flue, with screws on all four sides tightening down on the flue to keep it in place.

I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. It's made of high-quality stainless steel and stands tall enough to provide adequate ventilation. Coal burns as cleanly as gas or oil and does not produce as much heat. It fits the specified dimensions plus about 1". Tile flues are frequently irregular and can be larger than stated, as evidenced by the photo, which clearly shows the cap overhanging the flu with plenty of room to spare.

This is a far better quality chimney cap than I could find locally for a much lower price. The stainless cap should outlast the rusted painted steel cap it replaced. The dimensions were ideal for a standard 8x8 flue, and the screws made installation a breeze, even in the dead of winter. It comes highly recommended!.
Easy to assemble and perfect fit.
These were purchased in fours. One for each of my flues; they fit perfectly, were simple to install, and perform admirably. All four have been through several storms with winds of up to 50 miles per hour and have remained unaffected. They're made of high-quality, heavy-duty materials, and I expect them to last a long time.
