THE SIDE ATTACHMENT IS EXTREMELY WEAK
3/5

Overall, this unit is well-made and simple to set up. However, I disagree with the assertions that the steel is of high quality and that the unit is a good buy. The unit is, on the whole, quite light. I mistook it for a new toilet seat I'd ordered when I saw it in the box! At the unit's base, this becomes a problem: The sides of the base deflect in order to achieve a tight screw attachment. As the screw turns, make a bow out of your body. To withstand this deflection, the sides must be more rigid. I just finished installing the unit and didn't go all the way in because I didn't want the bowing to be visible. It will be interesting to see if my attachment can withstand strong winds. (I'm a retired general contractor with a contractor's license. ).

It's well-made
5/5

I think this is a well-made, attractive unit, and a great value for the money; I especially like the base attachment design, which hides the flue-to-cap connection. My unit will sit on a chimnet pot and is the perfect size for me; the stainless steel is a nice heavy gauge, and the overall finish is excellent. I believe I read about one reviewer who had their top fall off; It's attached to the top by spot welding the mesh, and mine is very secure, so I'm not worried. For a higher price, I've seen some of lower quality- This is a unit I strongly recommend.

The cap was delivered in about 4 days (thank you), and it is a very sturdy product
5/5

Each of the four sides of the cap that I received has one screw. That appeals to me more than the product image, which only shows two screws on two sides. As a result, the image on Amazon differs from the one I received. It's a very solid, sturdy piece of metal that fits much better than the one I had before. The rust spots on top (as seen in the photos) surprised me. Overall, I am pleased with the speed of delivery and the quality of the product.

Exceptionally well-made
5/5

I ordered this cap as well as a different brand in a size that this company did not offer. It was clear that the two were not the same. While the other cap served its purpose, this one was more durable, with heavy-duty screw threads and four nice stainless screws with pointed caps. Now that it's in place, it doesn't wiggle or yield like the other cap, which didn't even come with screws, so I had to go to the hardware store and figure out which screws would fit the other cap's flimsy threads. I only wish I had seen both sizes offered by this company so that I could have purchased both of these lovely items.

It's built with a lot of strength
5/5

The advertised size of 12X12 turned out to be 13X13. It's built with a lot of strength. The advertised size of 12X12 turned out to be 13X13. I cinched it up and drilled holes through the sides without mounting hardware, then wired it to the chimney flue stack in case the mounting hardware failed due to strong winds. At the very least, the roof will not be blown off.

The fact that it is made of 300 series stainless steel, which is a deciding factor in my purchase, was a deciding factor in my purchase
5/5

This baby should last a long time and there's no need to paint it; it looks good as is and, in my opinion, should not be painted (for engineering reasons related to the risk of introducing corrosion that would not otherwise occur). br>br>Sturdy mounting fastners made installation a breeze. You have the option of using a wrench and/or a screwdriver.
