This is exactly what your real estate agent wants you to do
5/5

Clamp on the damper. What is a damper clamp, and what is it used for? Some moron decided that you shouldn't be able to fully close your damper when using gas logs. So they came up with the idea. A clamp that holds the damper in place. It's completely unnecessary, but you'll need one of these if you want to sell your home with gas logs. br>As for me, installing the clamp was simple, but once it was done, the damper would no longer close because the part that keeps it closed would not engage. So I had to unscrew the fixed part (a piece of sheet metal with a gap cut in it for the damper handle to fit into) and move it 1/8 of an inch closer, before drilling and installing the three hold down screws. It only took me about 5 minutes to complete this task. It aids in the taking and holding of items such as tools and screws. If you're smart, you'll remove this when you buy the house so the damper can be fully closed. In this way, mosquitoes will not infest your home during the summer. If you're smart, you'll get rid of the gas logs before you put your house on the market.

When it comes to selling your home, have you overlooked a damper block on the inspection? Please take a look at this page
5/5

The Damper Clamp is the subject of this review. They had an inspector come through while I was trying to sell my house and insisted that my fireplace was not up to code and that I needed a damper clamp. My house was only completed 18 months ago, so I couldn't believe this wasn't standard practice among contractors. It turned out, however, that it was not a standard feature installed by builders. The good news is that this book can be found on Amazon. com. br>br>The entire purpose of this product is to ensure that the damper flute does not close when the fireplace is on, trapping gas inside the house and causing everyone to become ill or die. br>br>EASY TO INSTALL, EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T USED IT BEFORE, AS I HAVE. You simply slide under your fireplace, open the damper flute, place this clamp on the lip's edge, and grip it on the damper flute with a pair of pliers. After that, you're done, and you won't have to pay someone to come into your home and do a 5-minute job for a few hundred dollars.

This will almost certainly be required in order for your home to pass inspection
5/5

I, like many others, was previously penalized for not having one of these on my homeowners inspection. Because my inspection was scheduled for today, I paid a few extra dollars to have it delivered early this morning. It was installed in less than 30 seconds. I've included a photo of the damper in the process of being closed. With the clamp in place, you can only go so far. The goal is to prevent someone from closing the damper and allowing gas into your home by accident. Of course, if I were to stay here any longer, I would never have this thing on my fireplace because it lets cold air down the chimney in the winter; instead, I simply opened and closed the flu as needed. Regardless, the house is now ready to be inspected! LOL.

When it came crashing down, I was disappointed
4/5

The only thing I would change is the curved loop to be more of a square off rather than a hook. Because our fireplace damper has a lip, getting it to stick took some effort. It actually fell behind, and I had to retrieve it with a magnet because I couldn't reach it or see it. When it fell, I was disappointed, but relieved when I got it back. To put it in place, I had to lie down on my back and reach up. It does the job, so it was a good buy, but keep in mind that it might not fit perfectly. br>br>After the gas company cited us for not having one when turning our gas back on, I had to install one. This was the best choice I found.

My damper has now been fixed
5/5

The handle on my old damper broke. To keep the damper open, I used two of these clamps, one on each side of its base. It worked flawlessly!.

It's up to Amazon to figure out what's most important
5/5

The fire inspector who told me I needed one in my fireplace. Lowe's, on the other hand, did not have another Amazon come through. It's for this reason that they're so good. I adore Amazon.

It's incredibly simple to set up and does a fantastic job
5/5

It was incredibly simple to set up; it took me no more than 3 minutes. The instructions were very clear, and once installed, the chute stayed open, allowing us to pass our house inspection.

The job was completed successfully! Our front living room gas fireplace's damper clip needed to be replaced, according to Northwest Natural Gas
5/5

As it turns out, this wasn't the only problem, but with this damper clip in place and a new thermocoupler wire installed, the front living room gas fireplace is back to its old self, easy to light and adjust flames.
