Adapting to new situations is sometimes necessary! I opened the box to find a broken weld. The warranty stated that the product should be returned. Storms were approaching, and it was imperative that the system be installed as soon as possible. I made repairs in the hopes that it will hold together.
I had to modify by adding more bolts on three sides to deal with strong wind on the top.
This chimney cap was the perfect fit for the old wood burning stove chimney in my 1928 home. It was incredibly simple to put together and fit perfectly.
I recently constructed an outdoor fireplace out of 16" x 16" flute. The flute sticks out from the brick by about an inch. This cap claims to fit a 16" - 18" head circumference. 19". Because the mesh square is 16" square, my flute fits perfectly inside it. This is something I'd like to bring up so that others are aware of the base's overall size. There are no issues here because it works and looks good.
The shipping was extremely quick and well-protected. It was exactly what I expected and worked flawlessly. This was exactly what I needed for a 17x17 chimney, and it was exactly what I needed. Thanks!.
Installing it was a breeze. I did it on my own, after rebuilding my chimney, and I'm a girl:.
I loved it so much that I had to repair my chimney and then put my Pro Black on top of it, which completely covered the entire chimney and made it look fantastic. It arrived well ahead of schedule. Thanks W. Ford.
My only concern was whether or not the screws that secure the unit to the chimney would hold up over time. They could strengthen the area that holds these screws as well as the welds that hold the bottom flange in place. If you overtighten the four screws, the unit will deform. Continue until you reach your desired snugness.
