I've had one for at least 6 years. 7 years. My old set's markings are identical to those on the new sets I received as gifts. The plastic center is extremely durable, showing no signs of wear or scratches after washing or use - I put mine in the dishwasher after every use. I'm not sure if my original set was made by the same company, but the sets appear to be identical. This is a kitchen tool that I use frequently.
Yes, top-notch craftsmanship! These are fantastic, and I bought some for my daughters as well. They're a lot easier to use than the ones with hooks, and you get two of each size in two different shapes. I've never had a better set of measuring spoons. They'll be a hit with you, I'm sure. Mine doesn't have any jagged edges.
China is where these spoons were made.

On January 7, 2020, we purchased this set. Four of the most frequently used spoons have lost or nearly lost their markings, as shown in the photo. They were never put in the dishwasher and were always hand-washed; I suppose you get what you pay for. Perhaps the manufacturer/supplier will send us a replacement set? Update 11/22/2020: Spring Chef has offered to refund the purchase price and send laser-marked spoons as soon as they become available. They claimed that the ink is now better than when I purchased them in January. Customer service should be upgraded to a five-star rating!.
I wanted something more functional than the cheap flimsy little metal scoops that my son likes to steal. I like that these have two ends; sometimes a recipe calls for the same sized tsp for two different ingredients, and washing each one is inconvenient. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is because they're not super strong, bendable with applied pressure which can be bent back but I'm not sure what effect that would have over time, and the magnet isn't very strong at all. Holds them together, but not on the fridge or my metal bowls; only a wide metal surface with no gravity to oppose the magnet (on top of an edge but not on the side of anything) will work.
I've had these measuring spoons for a few months now, and I have to say that they are by far the most frequently used and most beloved of all of my kitchen tools! Given that we currently live in a world where complaints outnumber compliments, and where cons often outnumber benefits, I thought I'd show up and talk about a product that I am completely satisfied with! At the same time, I recognize that what is important to me may not be important to others, so here are some of the reasons why I adore these measuring spoons. br>br>1) Its shape allows it to fit into most containersbr>As you can see in the photo, each measuring spoon has a round spoon on one end and a narrow shaped spoon on the other. That's super convenient because you can use the circular one on the other end if you need to fit it into a narrow opening (for example, when removing spices from a spice container), but if shape isn't important or you're measuring wet ingredients, you can use the rectangular one on the other end. br>2) It feels like I bought two sets of measuring spoons instead of onebr>I already mentioned this, but here's another reason why having these feels like I bought two sets of spoons. There are usually several ingredients that require the same measurements when following a recipe - Some of the ingredients are wet, while the rest are dry. For example, a tbsp flour and a tbsp water might be required. Before I had these, I had to remember to measure out the dry ingredients first so that I could reuse the same spoon, or I'd have to measure out the wet ingredient first and then wash and dry the spoon just to measure out the dry ingredient. However, due to the fact that these spoons are double-ended, It doesn't matter which side I start with because I can use one for wet and the other for dry - I used two spoons instead of one, so that's one less thing I have to consider. br>3) It's a solid piece of equipment - It doesn't bend or appear fragile, and I use it to stir my coffee occasionally without noticing any changes due to the heat. br>br>4) It can be washed in the dishwasher - I've washed them several times and there is no rust or evidence that the measurement labels are wearing off (which has happened to many of my other measuring spoons). br> br>5) The spoon measurements are accuratebr>I read the contents of the spoon to ensure that it would hold the correct amount by weight for its labeling. So I put the tablespoon on a scale, zeroed it out, and then added cornstarch. Knowing that a tablespoon of cornstarch should equal 7. 5 g cornstarch I spooned into the tbsp until it reached 7. 5g, and when I did, the cornstarch was precisely leveled with the spoon, ensuring that the volume and weight of these spoons are both accurate. br>br>6) Easy storagebr>As you may know, because the spoons are magnetized, keeping them together is a breeze with this product. The magnets, on the other hand, are strong enough to hold it on a refrigerator or even a metal wall strip if you want to keep it there. br>br>I rarely give 5 stars to a product, but these spoons, along with some stainless steel measuring cups I recently purchased, are the pinnacle of perfection for me, and I couldn't help but tell everyone that if you buy these, you will not be disappointed! Be well!.
It's great to have the 1/8 tsp on hand! They fit nicely in our spice jars (regular grocery store spices) and appear to be sturdy - My toddler slammed one against the counter repeatedly, but it shows no signs of denting or bending! Best of all, the magnetic strip in the middle adheres to our magnetic knife bar, ensuring that they are always accessible when needed! There's no need to rummage through the drawer any longer!.
Unfortunately, I did not realize this until it was too late to return them because I was traveling.
I gave these a 3 because the concept is great, and I really like them, but the 1/2 teaspoon bent when I was trying to scoop some baking powder out of the jar that had compacted a little. It wasn't particularly difficult; it was simply compacted. The seller, on the other hand, is AWESOME. When I told him about the problem, he was friendly and grateful for my suggestions (to use stronger steel). He offered to replace the half teaspoon, which I declined because I bent it back, and promised to contact me when the problem was resolved, at which point I would purchase these for my entire family. br>br>I like how they're magnetic, two-sided, and come with both a narrow and a round spoon. They are simple to store and remain intact. The magnets aren't particularly powerful - You couldn't keep them all together on a steel bar, but they do stay in that position individually. I appreciate the wide range of sizes available. I used to keep two measuring spoon sets on hand, but I no longer need them. I like that they aren't attached to a ring. Both plastic and metal sets have jumped off their rings on a regular basis for me. br>br>Despite the fact that the steel isn't quite strong enough, I would buy these again and consider them to be a good value. I'd be willing to pay a few dollars more if I knew they'd last me a lifetime.
