I have not measured it yet, but it looks like it's accurate. There is a lot of weight to it, so it should last a lifetime. In addition, the same amount can be measured with a tablespoon. As a result of getting this, my wife has been using it instead of the tablespoon measure, so I suppose it fills some sort of psychological need.
A coffee scoop is what it is. The scoop per cup should be round. In response to the gentleman complaining that the weight is off, if you're that critical, it sounds like you need to weigh instead of measure.
When filled to the edge, this container holds 17 mL of water or 6 grams of coffee grounds. Obviously, it will work if you don't normally fill it up to the edge (because you don't want to spill or for whatever other reason you don't want to spill). However, I often fill to the edge and this won't be acceptable for me.
Cooking is my passion, and I use a tablespoon to measure the condiments I use in my dishes. It is just a pain to use, because the tablespoon that I use comes in a ring with the other spoons on my measuring table. The experience of cooking was made a lot more enjoyable by the tablespoon. As a result of the long handle, it is also perfect for measuring ground coffee. Is it possible that just a tablespoon can bring so much joy? The impossible has become a reality.
To blend my own tea and coffee mix, I make a coffee and chicory blend. I replaced my short measuring spoons with these longer handled spoons after using short measuring spoons that fell into the ground coffee/chicory. I like this a lot My fingers won't get contaminated by the grinds when I dip them in it.
In all honesty, I thought the merchandise would be of higher quality. The handle is stuck to the bowl like it is glued. There's an odd feeling of cheapness to it, despite its weight.
The scoop is perfect for leaving in the BCAA container. You can hold the long handle with your fingers sticking up so the end doesn't get powdery, so your fingers stay.
Those tbsp scoops are great. This is what I use for my coffee, and I couldn't imagine doing without it. You can't get better quality for less money -- It has a decent amount of weight. The grip part of the scoop had a little yellow discoloration near where it meets the grip (as you will see in one of my pictures), but I do not consider this to change its purpose or functionality, so I do not have any real.
