I fill one of these filters with 3 1/2 - 4 cups of water and it completely transforms my life. Pour 4 cups of coffee into a gallon-sized container. Fill a 12-ounce glass beverage dispenser halfway with water and set it on the counter for 12 hours. After 16 hours, simply remove the filter and throw it away. There will be no squeezing, and there will be no messes. It's absolutely breathtaking. I really like how easy it is to make cold brew with this disposable bag. I gave it four stars because I had previously used another brand, and this one allows for a small amount of coffee "sediment" at the bottom of the pitcher, whereas the other one did not. I'm guessing a coarser bean grind would solve this minor issue, but I'm using pre-ground beans. for the sake of convenience, ground beans.

I'd give these a five-star rating if it weren't for the fact that every other bag in the box had a hole on one side. Aside from that, the ones that can be used are quite good. They have almost no flavor, have a good drawstring, and are durable.

I purchased these in the hopes of finding a suitable replacement for my Toddy cold brew system. These filters aren't very good, and the product description is deceptive. The filter's opening isn't particularly large, and filling it with ground from my grinder cup is difficult. The drawstring isn't "thick," but it is thin and difficult to tie. This filter is supposed to hold one pound of ground coffee, so good luck with that. Last but not least, it's not the right filter for the Toddy cold brew system; I could barely tie it off with 12 ounces of coffee inside. With 12 ounces of coffee in that filter, it forms a coffee sausage that floats (and yes, the grinds were super saturated), resulting in a weaker brewed coffee. These filters are probably better for ball jars and smaller containers, but I wouldn't use them in larger systems.

I'm very impressed with the bag's quality and durability. They can withstand a firm wringing out by hand (I like to get every last drop of coffee) even after several days in water. br>br>After stuffing the bag with ground coffee and tying the drawstrings, I tie a simple knot around the upper part of the formed neck and wrap the strings around it. br>br>The material used to make the bags allows water to flow freely while the coffee grounds are retained. br>A small amount of VERY fine coffee grounds seeps through the bag. For me, it's not a detractor because it's so fine and adds to the flavor. I'm going to buy some more!.

Let's start with the positive: Large enough for a 2-quart pitcher, and regular grind coffee can be used. If it doesn't tear, it's a piece of cake to clean. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, The bag overflowed into the 2 quart mason pitcher, causing it to overflow. I was unable to remove it, and the attempt resulted in it ripping. br>br>I thought this would be a better option for cold brew coffee than using metal mesh filters. I used 1 as per the directions. I used a 2 quart mason jar pitcher and filled it with 5 cups of ground coffee. I refrigerated the pitcher for an hour and a half. I tried to take the filter bag out of the pitcher, but it had grown too large to fit through the opening. When attempting to remove the filter, it tore. So much for the simple cleanup. br>br> I ultimately decided to purchase a metal mesh coffee filter.

I've been making cold brew coffee by sewing coffee filters into pockets, filling them with coffee grounds, and then sewing the filter back together. For a gallon of cold brew coffee, I needed to make four pockets. It took a long time, and I still had to strain the coffee because of leaking silt. These totes are fantastic! For a gallon of cold brew, I'm almost at the top of one bag. Compared to paper filters, this material allows for quicker cold brewing. After rinsing and drying them, I've even used a few of them again. I will definitely buy from you again. Note - I recommend making a complete circle by tying a knot in the two strings that emerge from the opposite side. Then I mailed it and tied a bow around it to keep the string from coming out of the casing by accident. It's also a great way to repurpose them.

It's all about the scale. These bags can be used to make cold brew in a 2 quart pot. pitcher. I use 200g of coffee to 1500 ml of water and leave it on the counter overnight to get the best results. What's the deal with three stars instead of four? The bags are advertised as being 6x10 inches, but when you account for the narrowed drawstring area, the opening is just under 5 inches. In this case, an extra inch would make a big difference in how much I like the product; as it is, the smaller opening makes it difficult to pour or scoop ground coffee into the bag. There's always a big mess to clean up afterward, which can detract from the pleasant afterglow of a good brew. Why can't people be upfront about the size of their products?.
