In a nutshell, What a great idea, love it! The purpose of installing this on my back door is to solve the following issues Water from rain, bugs, and drafts. While it was still windy during a storm, I immediately noticed the draft which used to come through that huge gap under the door had disappeared. Suddenly, the house was so quiet I noticed my husband looking up from what he was reading and saying, "Wow, it got a lot quieter!" In addition, after it was installed, we had no rain coming through the bottom of The kit was easy to install (except before the foam was carefully inserted in the sleeve), and it works like a charm!.
The Velcro attachment lets you remove it without removing the strip so you can take it off without removing the Velcro tape. Even after the leak was fixed, you can still see that the dark area (cold area) was much thinner in the thermal picture.
I can no longer feel a breeze coming in from under the door.
I am satisfied with the result. It's so strong, however, that I was able to "release" a layer of paint from my old, painted door when I tried to reposition it (as instructions say you can). This section of the door will not stick to the door anymore as the paint adhered to the adhesive. As described, I do not think that this is necessarily reusable. As it stands, it is better than nothing and is quite adequate. To add to the draft protection, I'll probably pick up a second one to put on the outside of the door. One issue is that my door isn't completely flat, so the far corner leaks a bit more than the other side, and the foam wasn't really flexible enough (not like the beans bags or bags that mold to the floor/door shape) and wasn't really heavy. To add some weight to keep it against the door, I stuck a welding rod down the length. It might be even better if a V2 had a beanbag-type material.
Our front door has a small gap at the bottom, which drives me crazy. It allows cool air to escape, hot air to enter, and bugs to crawl through. I've attached this to the door easily and it seems to have solved the issue. This note applies Make sure that you align it properly the first time It is very strong adhesive.
Why do I have to do it. It might have been easier to make this with household supplies if I had known it was going to turn out It's hands down the worst purchase Amazon has ever made. Marketing that is deceptive at its core.
This review will be changed from the previous one. Initially, I had written the product was not good, but the seller immediately fixed the issue, so I am very satisfied with the product now.
The following likes I. - The setup is simple
- This product does a good job of sealing the gap underneath the door. It's - In fact, as long as the tube takes up a bit of space, it is important to ensure that in opening the door fully, it does not bump into the hinge area or wall protrusions. In this case, you may have to adjust it - The main custom door I make is not long enough. Despite buying two and cutting them to fit (around 56"), there is a noticeable discontinuity in the appearance. However, it works really well for me and I use it on my front door. It might help prevent cold air leaking through in winter, as well as insects that might get through and under them.
It is just what I was looking for to help with sound isolation in my office. There is a gap under my doors of over an inch, and this blocks the entire space. I also enjoy how well it blends with my hardwood floor. In case you misplace it or step on it accidentally, the velcro is also a nice touch.
I was able to put this together and install it in a matter of minutes. It was nice that I was able to trim it a bit due to the design since I have non-standard arms The door needs to be of standard size so that I can block out the noise The instructions are clear, the product is lightweight, and the Velcro allows it to attach to any surface The attachments can easily be removed and reattached if necessary.
