In order to understand what “deep” means, you must first define what it means for you. The distance from the frame that will always be in contact with the wall to the back of the unit is important to me. How deep will it protrude into the wall, or how deep will it stick out. The question is essential when a person plans to replace a unit from an old house and wants to know how big the rough opening should In the end, the answer was just short of 3" (2 15/16"), so you should be okay if your opening is 3". This is a critical dimension that I am not sure why manufacturers can't clarify.

One of the things many people interact with each day is their medicine cabinet. They see, touch, and use it on a daily basis. Some of those same people may have never bought a medicine cabinet in their lives (there were some included with their home or the building contractor installed it without any homeowner input). Few people ever replace a medicine cabinet that has already been This is why it is hard to understand why something that is used every day and supposed to last a lifetime today isn't made as well as they were. I was surprised to see how many of the ones I looked at were made of thin plastic and had the look of an old, tawdry motel The powder was still the majority of this one--the most popular powder for many years. The tool is still sourced from the United States and is made from coated steel. It looks more like it can belong in a luxurious bathroom because the mirror is a beveled piece of glass rather than a flat piece of glass in a metal frame. In my opinion, the number one reason to choose it is that it has dimensions that are extremely hard to find today. There are a couple of bath supply companies that say this is a size that used to be common maybe 20 years ago but has fallen out of favor due to changes in home construction. fact, I looked at others, but the one that looked like it would fit perfectly was over twice the price.
Returning to the metal construction, the seller states very clearly in their product description that the shelf material is clear plastic. It appears that there are some customers who expected the shelves to be glass (I haven't seen glass shelves at this price for over thirty Is there anything I prefer over It doesn't really bother me because the shelves are hidden most of the time and the use of plastic isn't harmful to the environment There are some models that use a thick acrylic shelf that appears like glass, but I would have preferred a thick acrylic shelf. The mirror on this cabinet is a complete piano-type hinge that is riveted to the cabinet, which is not the case with many plastic cabinets I've seen. If you mount the cabinet at the top or bottom, you can choose how to open the mirror. Purchasing the cabinet fully assembled will not affect how the mirror opens. If you prefer, you can mount the cabinet on a wall or in a recessed space. My old mirror broke on the old cabinet and I spent months looking for a new one that fitted my space and I eventually found only two cabinets that are an exact fit, and the other model was almost double the amount and did not offer anything better for the extra cost. There was a 3 day delay. Despite the fact that it survived, it was not particularly well protected and the plastic shelves were just thrown into the cabinet without any sort of support. Even though the cabinet arrived to me, it has one drawback for either its design or the way it has been constructed . . . the frame (which can be seen whether or not you recess the cabinet or wall - Mount it) does not have welded corners, meaning that the frame will have a gap at each corner because the framing flares out so slightly. On the close-up photo, you can see it clearly. There is no reason to leave the corners of the cabinet unfinished after they took the time to weld the corners of the interior. While there is a problem with the corners, which I don't consider a deal breaker, the overall quality of this cabinet is a superior value for the price. It looks fantastic once installed and has a feeling of quality that will last for years.
We selected this medicine cabinet to fit in a space previously occupied by another medicine cabinet. My spouse and I really like the appearance of this mirror and the extra large size. I was also pleased to see that the item was delivered quickly and well packed. The downside was the two plastic shelves that came with it had holes and cracks. The first thing that strikes me is that there are only two A minimum of 3 people should have been present. It's no surprise they were broken because the shelves were of the cheapest quality. A new shelf was all I needed, so I called Amazon. There was no need for a complete new mirror but that is what I had to purchase. As Amazon had emailed me the shipping label, I repacked it in the two large boxes and foam and sent it back to them.
Our new medicine cabinet was delivered this morning, and the same 2 cheap 15 cent shelves were intact this time. I will reassure you that I have gone out to look for better shelves. Due to the house being built after WWII, the medicine cabinet in our bathroom was a bit on the small side. After searching high and low for a recessed cabinet with all the right dimensions and coming up empty, we found one on Amazon that would work. Metal is used for the inner cabinet, which makes it exceedingly sturdy for the price. had no issue with the corners not being welded together because they were perfect. - My husband drilled a hole so that we can securely affix the back of the cabinet to the wall. - I also painted the front to match the A second screw and two more screws were added on the side.

I have received my first cabinet and am working on it Installing it before noticing the shelves were damaged is not a good practice. The Amazon representative answered the phone. Amazon rep assured me that only shelves would be sent. That was something I specifically asked about. A whole medicine cabinet was given to me. This is a quite heavy item & it weighs a lot To hefty to be shipped by UPS.
The shelves are very brittle, and the packaging is a little bulky. In slots, they tend to slide around a lot. There is no doubt that the new ones will also crack eventually. 15 years ago, I had a $25 medicine cabinet from Home Depot that was very similar to this. It is a great deal for the price. It beats similar items I prefer the fact that the inside corners of the unit are square rather than curved like the old one. There is only one negative about this piece it only comes with 2 shelves, but with a piece of glass, it can easily be extended by one. A shelf from my old unit is being used in the new one. I also painted the thin metal flange that shows signs of surface rust with Rustoleum (gloss white) to make it look a bit more professional.
The quality of the product disappointed me. It doesn't close securely, which is annoying since you have to close it every time. In the interior, the mirror panel is cheaply fabricated and bows a bit where it is attached. The medicine cabinet in question may not be of that quality, but a $80+ dollar cabinet is still considered good value. Paying a fair price does give you what you want.
