The cabinet is designed to fit a standard rough opening of 14 x 24 inches.
It might be possible to mount it on a non-recessed wall, but it would protrude about 6 inches. It's metal with glass shelf inserts on the inside.
A full length metal piano hinge is attached to a powder coated steel bodied cabinet in this frameless mirror door. This unit is extremely long lasting.
The medicine cabinet can be mounted on the wall or recessed into the wall. The recessed dimension is 4 in. if installed as recessed. 5"; Mirrors are included for installation on the sides of the unit if it is installed as a wall mount.

For a small bathroom remodel, we needed a specific size. We didn't have many options. I looked in a few places and decided to order this one based on the price. We needed it quickly, and Amazon Prime was able to fulfill our request! The cabinet has pleased me. Inside, there is a nice room. Shelves can be moved around. It has a very refined appearance to it.
The size is ideal for the inset in the cabinet. Because the house is older, it was difficult to find a mirror of this size; I like how the top and bottom edges of the mirror are extended, providing more mirror coverage than a straight rectangle. Design that has been well thought out.
Do not be fooled by the mirror's dimensions; this mirror is only for a 14x24 opening. The mirror is one of my favorites because it allows you to open it to the left or right. When the package arrived, it was damaged, and I was concerned that the mirror would be damaged as well. I would buy this product again in the future because the packaging was excellent and the mirror was in good condition.
I just installed it; there are two screws on each side that hold it in place, so after opening up the drywall and correcting the builder's error, I added wood to the sides and a piece of wood to the bottom for support. br>br>The glass shelves were not broken. It has a nice appearance and plenty of storage space; there are five slots for the three shelves, allowing you to arrange them however you want. My previous mirror was a cheap plastic builder's grade; this one is stamped steel and has a lot more space. The mirror is well-made and simple to install. br>br> Only a template for cutting the wall was missing.

The way the mirror has been designed adds a lot more than you might think. It's only a few inches on top and bottom, but it appears to be much more. br>br>The cabinet's interior is equally appealing. It's more durable than those shelves with one or two pegs on each side, and it has clear glass shelves that slide into place and can be adjusted. Because the recessed cabinet is thin, it doesn't take up a lot of room, but it's ideal for providing extra storage above the sink. br>br>Because the cabinet is lightweight, it's simple to install if you're replacing an older one. I'll point out that the oval shape of the mirror will cause it to bump into things that standard older cabinets would not. Because the cabinet wouldn't open with the longer pieces facing down, I had to flip the glass pieces upside down, just like my light fixture. I didn't mind because it wasn't a noticeable change to me, but I wanted to bring it up. br>br>Overall, I would strongly recommend the cabinet. I was thinking about just putting a mirror in place of the medicine cabinet. I wanted it to look modern, but I didn't want to sacrifice the additional storage space. I had assumed that I would have to make do with a mirror until I came across this medicine cabinet. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this. It's a fantastic solution that also happens to look great.
It arrived as expected, but we haven't taken it out of the box yet; we'll do that later today. br>The Medicine Cabinet is now up and running. We were surprised to learn that the interior and frame work are made of metal. It was Polyurethane that we were expecting. We believe the Poly is better suited to moist or humid environments, such as a bathroom. It's the right size for us and fits perfectly in the bathroom's cavity. We thought the price was a little high. We found a larger cabinet with glass that was less expensive and more sturdy at a local hardware box store, but it didn't quite fit into the cabinet opening. We ordered this cabinet because we were in a rush to finish our remodel and didn't want to start ripping into walls again. It appears to be in good condition.
This medicine cabinet is one of my favorites. It has a beveled mirror and an oval-shaped mirror. The arched horizontals give it a very "design" look. We're renovating a bathroom and were able to move the studs in the wall to make room for this recess. Without a hitch, I installed the cabinet. I'm glad I looked on Amazon for this item because it wasn't available in any of the local home improvement stores. If you don't over-stretch the glass shelves, they will fit snugly. Screws should be tightened. This mirror appears to be very attractive. The glass shelves are tightly fitted and the hinge is sturdy. Take care not to overtighten the screws that hold the cabinet in place in the wall opening. If you do this, the cabinet will flex, causing the shelves to become loose. Simply turn the screw heads a little further once they have made contact with the metal. One seemed a little loose at first, but when I flipped it over, it fit perfectly. It is to be expected that placing items on the bottom shelf produces a metallic sound. Wood was the material of my previous cabinet.
