Hello and thank you for your interest in Fox Hollow Furnishings' Aiden Wall Niche. Installing and removing our niche is simple if you already have a rough opening cut. It'll only take a few minutes to remove and replace four Phillips head screws. The niche comes with four wood plugs to cover the screw heads, but if you plan to uninstall it even once, I would advise against using the screw hole covers because removing them is the most difficult part of the process.

These cabinets are even nicer in person than they appear in the photos. Good shelf depth, great color, and well-made. I purchased two and placed them side by side. Modifying and painting them was a breeze. I'm very happy.
Someone complained about not receiving screws or caps for the screw holes, but mine did. It's a sturdy piece with no flimsiness. It fit perfectly in the space previously occupied by the 20-year-old medicine cabinet. I will say that once the screws were in place, it did not sit flush against the wall for me, so I caulked around it for a finished look. Even if it didn't, I'm sure I would have done it because it looks so much better. It was a little pricey (but the exact same item from the same manufacturer on Wayfair was $40 more), but it was well worth the money in the end. I usually try to make my own version if I am capable of doing so, but I am unable to do so with these. Because I lack the necessary tools and skills, I believe the price is justified.
I was a little hesitant to order this because it appeared to be quite costly. I had the wall repaired recently and used the opportunity to get rid of an old medicine cabinet from the 1970s. I was looking for a replacement cabinet and happened upon this while looking up the size of the wall opening (14" x 18"), which I'm glad I did! br>The packaging was the first thing that caught my eye; Styrofoam was used to pack it perfectly and snugly. The finish was made of solid wood and was of extremely high quality. It fit perfectly in the opening and was incredibly simple to install using the included screws. It's difficult to see in the photos, but it's attached to the studs around it with four screws, two on each side. br>I still believe I overpaid, but the price is in line with the product's worth.
In our powder bathroom, I bought this small recessed shelf unit to replace a dated "builder grade" recessed medicine cabinet with a mirrored door. A new framed vanity mirror unit had already been installed next to it, and the wood color matched perfectly - Look at the pictures. br>As the existing rough-in indicated, this unit was designed as a direct replacement for standard-sized medicine cabinets. The cutouts were perfectly matched. However, double-check your measurements, particularly the rough-in measurements. Because this unit has a significantly larger overlap on the wall, which may pose a problem in some situations, it is larger in size and overall external dimensions. br>The cabinet is well-made, well-packaged, and includes mounting screws and cover plugs in the finish of your choice. br>Overall, an excellent shelving unit that provides an excellent upgrade, albeit at a slightly higher price than it deserves.
I was enthralled by the concept of a single product that could be used in a wide range of rough-in sizes. After a lot of Amazon searching, I realized I'd have to look through a lot of reviews and installation manuals to find the compatible rough in ranges for each product, and even then it wasn't always easy to find. People appeared relieved, grateful, and delighted by this product, and the convenience of replacing my 30 year old ugly wooden medicine cabinet with an allegedly decent quality solution was worth the $160 to me. br>br>The product arrived in good condition, but I have three complaints: br>br>1) I'm a 14-year-old kid. 25x20. Imagine my disappointment when I couldn't get the product to completely cover my rough in, despite the fact that it is compatible with this product according to the manufacturer's specifications; Regardless of what I did, I ended up with a score of zero. The 25" stood out like a sore thumb. This item is best suited for a maximum of 20 people, in my opinion. Rough in at a height of 0". To close the gap, I'll have to purchase and customize some moulding. br>br>2) the unit had two large and unsightly cracks in the paint on the frame where the right angles met. This is unacceptably poor value for a $160 wooden box. br>br>3) the wooden buttons that are supposed to cover the screw holes don't line up with the unit. To keep the screw heads from interfering with the fit, I had to route out the insides with a large drill bit. br>br>One advantage is that it was very simple to install because there was already a rough in. br>br>I would not have felt so insulted paying what I did for this if the dimensions had been as advertised and the quality had been even marginally decent. I'm relieved that my unsightly medicine cabinet is no longer in use, but this was more of a lateral shift than an upgrade. br>br>I believe I could spend the time making something that looks a lot nicer, or I am willing to spend a little time looking for a high-quality product that will likely cost the same or slightly more. br>br>It's a real shame, because I adore this company's concept of creating adaptable, innovative, simple-to-install products for quick updates. However, they must either charge half as much as they do now (though I believe 1/3 is more reasonable) or overhaul their quality control. br>br>As it stands, I can't return the product because I altered the buttons, and I don't want to be stuck with an unsightly rough in until I find a suitable replacement.
This item was purchased to fill a hole left by the previous owners, who had removed a medicine cabinet but had neglected to repair the wall. The hole was of an irregular height, and I had to search for quite some time before I discovered it. It was a nice alternative to making my own recessd wall niche. br>br> This unit filled in the gap and looks right at home! br>br>The primary purpose of finishing this opening was to hold a few light weight items, so it has proven to be quite durable. br>br>Be prepared to use tools such as an electric screw gun, a level, and possibly shims.
I'm here to agree with the majority of the other reviews: this was exactly what I had hoped for. It's incredibly simple to put together, and it's extremely durable and well-made. It's been made and it looks great! I just wish it was a little cheaper, but that's not surprising; I was hesitant to buy it because of the price, but these are very nice shelves for a situation where you don't have a lot of choices. Perfect for replacing those 20-year-old crusty, yellowing plastic medicine cabinets!.
