Glaucoma requires that I use eyedrops four times per day. My eyes have become dry and irritated as a result of this. They are frequently tearful while doing so. When I complained to my eye doctor, he expressed my meibomian glands in my eyelids and said the secretions were excessively thick. I've started taking the Bruder microwavable eye mask, Ocusoft eyelid wipes, and VisionPro EPA/DHA/GLA supplement as part of my daily routine. My eyes are no longer irritated, and the tearing has almost completely stopped. The lipid secretions appear to have thinned out and are now doing a better job of lubricating the surface of my eye. Because I'm taking VisionPro, I'm experiencing less joint pain as an unexpected side effect. I agree with other comments that the supplement appears to be a little pricey, but you often get what you pay for in life, and since this supplement appears to be working for me, I plan to continue using it.
I'd been told in the past that I needed to take fish oils, but when I tried other brands, I got fishy burps and didn't see any improvement. My Lasik surgeon recommended this brand to help with post-surgery dry eyes, and it's become a staple in my life because it has no unpleasant taste or burps. They clearly help with dry eye, to the point where I can tell if I've gone a day without using them. Even if I take them when my eyes are already sore and dry, I usually notice a difference within an hour, though I have no idea how that's possible, so maybe it's just a placebo effect. br>br>Regardless, as someone who has tried and been unimpressed by various fish oils over the years, these have blown me away with how much relief they can provide for dry eye symptoms. They are pricey, but I believe they are well worth the money.
It was a pleasant experience. This fish oil supplement was supposed to help with my dry eyes. The 3 gram dose of fish oil, however, was too much for me, and I had to stop. It resulted in gastrointestinal distress. Constipation, bloating, and diarrhea are some of the symptoms you may experience. High doses of fish oil can cause this side effect. I'll keep taking it, but at my usual dose of 1 gram (1000 milligrams) per day. It can also make you more prone to bleeding, so if you're on blood thinners, you should avoid it. This is most likely a bad idea.
On the advice of my brother-in-law, I purchased these supplements to help with dry eye (left). law (who also happens to be a doctor). My dry eye symptoms improved dramatically within a few days.
