After my husband left the hospital, I ordered this commode chair to make it easier for him to use the toilet and get up and down from it. The order arrived on Saturday after I ordered it on Friday Today, we started to install it and it proved to be too large in diameter to fit the new seat screws. As I am beginning the returns process, I see an error message saying that this item cannot be returned. Okay, so where do we go from here?.

After purchasing several other toilet frames (some at a much higher price) I finally found THE ONE I need. As a 92 y/o disabled Korean War veteran, he has difficulty using the toilet - he has difficulty walking and can barely stand. I did not know about Carex Toilet Safety Frame until I purchased it. The directions were clear and easy to follow. The installation went smoothly Once the toilet bolts are removed, the toilet is ready to go. As far as fitting the bracket goes, our home health aide did not encounter any problems at all. This frame is right next to the toilet seat. It fits perfectly, and the legs are easy to adjust. There are grab bars mounted to the wall near the toilet, but they are too small to reach safely. This frame is the perfect place to secure the grab bars. This frame is very solid and sturdy (my dad weighs over 200 pounds) and he says he always feels safe riding on it. The surface can be cleaned very easily. We have a home health aide that cleans the frame daily and she told us that cleaning it takes about half as long as cleaning the other frames. My disabled state doesn't prevent me from cleaning my house I'm able to do it when I have to. The bathroom in my home is much smaller, so I will order one for my own use. A LOT OF STURDINESS IS DEFICIENT! I would not recommend this! The product seems not to be sturdy enough. I would find it difficult to fit the legs to the floor. I tried this product on my son who weighs only 160 lbs and found that he could not comfortably sit on the toilet in comfort. I notice the handles wobble when I put weight on them! TRYING TO RETURN, BUT I was not able to do so. I am so upset! CAREX COMPANY IS NOT THE PLACE TO BUY.
