I find it Buttercreams and icings don't always turn out the same color when using this dye. As soon as I finished mixing the mixture, the cream cheese icing was a very bright red. It was a ruby red colored buttercream that I colored with a swiss meringue. After the meringue buttercream was refrigerated overnight, it became the same bright red color as the icing that I used on the cream cheese cake. Strangely, it wasn't what I had expected. Therefore, some buttercream methods result in the same color after a while and others have an immediate color change. When you know the length of time it will take to get to the right color, I would not attempt to start a project. You will not be able to change the color of the gel by adding more. In order to achieve a bright red color, there is no need to use too much. As far as flavor is concerned, it does not alter it. I have worked with a variety of different colorants, but I personally prefer the Wilton color right method. You cannot get the entire line from Americolor because of the price.

It's funny because I've always been a fan of Americolor for super bright red and black, but I still use other brands. We cannot stress enough that you should let this red sit overnight if you plan to use it. As the color develops, it will become more vibrant. It is a bad idea to add a bunch of color to the frosting for an immediate effect, as this will result in a terrible taste. Again, it is important to rest and let this sit overnight in order to allow the recipe to fully develop.

I was totally blown away by how concentrated this stuff was. As opposed to having to use the entire bottle to color red velvet, I only need a few tablespoons. The only issue I have with Americolor customer service is that it receives two out of five stars. Whenever I use dye paste instead of plain food coloring, my cupcakes turn out quickly and are very front-loaded. I called this number to get help since the dye paste was burning my cupcakes. In an attempt to quickly explain what happened, he said, "Our product is not to blame. As specified in the MSDS, there are no burning points. ". It is impossible for our paste to have caused the burning of your cupcakes. Can you be sure that you are not baking them for too long? It's possible that for you, there is no burning point, but good for you. It seems there was no attempt at even trying to help troubleshoot. A quick response is all that is required. My final solution was to double pan to solve the issue with burnt bottoms I had to double pan. I find it strange that the only thing that has changed is the dye paste.

I bought this after a buddy told me you can use a gel and concentrate. I cannot describe how amazing it is! Adding a few squeezes to a quart of clear corn syrup will give it a deep red hue. As well as adding some black, I have attempted to create a realistic look for the blood. The product would work well for dyeing fake blood and should work equally well for dyeing all kinds of food.
