My system now has an awful amount of static and crackle

The other reviews were generally positive, and I wasn't expecting anything spectacular for the price. But the sound was so bad that I had to change my needle. Then I took it out of the rotation (which disabled my volume control) to see if it was still clear, and it was (especially with the new needle). )br>br>I had purchased this as a low-cost preamp to enable me to use my amp as a speaker for my turntable as an in-home system. the- mean- While I construct the system I desire, I need to fix the time. br>br>It's truly appalling.

Noisy and unreliable

This preamp has a low gain and a high-quality output. Even when the turntable is not connected, a high-pitched squealing noise can be heard all the time.
