Selected User Reviews For Musical Fidelity, Phono preamplifier V90-LPS, Black

By opting for V90-, I believe I may have saved $1000
5/5

LPS. This is a fantastic phono preamp at a ridiculously low price! "Express Music Instruments" was the first Amazon vendor from which I ordered this. My order was never delivered (this vendor provides terrible shipping service). I received a refund after a long phone call with Amazon customer service. After a few days, I noticed my neighborhood Hi-Fi. I purchased it from a Fi store because they were offering the same product at a lower price (with no shipping). br>Aside from my initial purchasing experience, this phono preamp is the subject of my review. Simply put, my Pro-Am and I are a perfect match. Musical Fidelity A3 integrated amplifier and Project RPM1 Carbon (with Nagaoka MP200 cartridge) The first thing I notice is a fantastic 3D sound stage, with more weighted mid and lower frequencies, as well as that sweet height coming out of my B. CDM 1NT is a W CDM speaker. When compared to the previous phono preamp (ART DJ Pre II), the V90-S is a significant improvement. Simply put, LPS sounds more analog, silky smooth, and three-dimensional. I'm looking forward to hearing from you once I've received my upgraded power supply.

Nothing in this price range compares to it, but there are units that sound better for a thousand dollars
5/5

As I previously stated, nothing in this price range compares to this unit, but there are a few options under $1,000 that are worth considering. The Cliffwood Dac from VPI is very similar to the MF unit, but when compared, the VPI has a tube-like sound to it. This does not mean that the VPI is superior to the MF, but there is a distinct difference in sound that you will notice. The Sutherland KC Vibe MK 2 is the next step up, and it does everything the VPI did but better. It has larger caps and electronics, and it costs 900 dollars. So, if someone tells you that this can compete with a $1000, you should believe them. They clearly don't know what they're talking about as a unit. Always conduct research and, if you have the opportunity to listen, do so. It's inevitable that you'll see people making ridiculous comments on Amazon. Some will claim to have made a $1000 profit. They could have done better if they had spent that money. SOMETHING TO NOTE: If you have audiophile high-end equipment with excellent amplification and high-quality components all the way down to your interconnect and speaker wires, a higher-end phono preamp can make a huge difference in the sound. It's as if you were supercharging the soundstage with incredible sound and detail from your records; you'd be surprised at what you'd hear. I borrowed a Quicksilver Phono Preamp from a friend, and it blew my mind. Others have told me that the Sutherland KC Vibe is also no slouch.

Incredible attention to detail, a massive soundstage, and a fantastic price! I bought it to see if it was better than the phono stage in an Adcom GTP-1000
5/5

400 both at night and during the day More details, a larger sound stage, and a deeper bass than previously. That is what I got. GFP- The built-in phono stage on the 565 is one of the best rated in its price range. Despite the fact that it is still an improvement over GTP-, Despite being better than the V90-400, the 565 isn't quite as good. lps. I am extremely pleased with the performance and price; I am aware that there are better phono stages available, but they are out of my price range. This unit comes highly recommended; it will rekindle your passion for your vinyl collection.

Although it sounds better than most built-in preamps, it costs twice as much as another phono stage that sounds even better
3/5

I had to return it because it was better than most built-in preamps, but it cost twice as much as another that sounded even better and was more configurable. Schiit's mani is what I'm referring to. The V90-A is a clear winner. In comparison to Mani, LPS has poor imaging, soundstage, mids, and highs. When you turn the power switch on, it also makes a loud pop. There were two aspects of the V90 that I preferred: The front switch was LPS, and the unit had a stunning professional appearance. If it had sounded as good, I would have kept it for that - even if it had cost twice as much. alas!.

A phono stage that isn't just for beginners
5/5

The phono preamp is incredible! Nagaoka MP- is a Nagaoka MP- that is used with Nagaoka It sounded like a great deal at $150. Excellent imaging, good dynamics, and no harsh or bright areas. A phono stage that is more than just a "starter" Would highly recommend with the Pioneer 1000 turntable and the above-mentioned cartridge for a budget-friendly audiophile setup (less interconnects).

The phono pre-amplifier is excellent
5/5

amp. I was on the lookout for a good phono preamp. To go with my new Project Debut Carbon turntable, I bought an amplifier. The quality of the product is excellent. As far as I can tell, the output is very clean, with no hum or coloration of the music. This, as well as the turntable, were purchased from Audio Advisor, a company I highly recommend. I appreciated how well packaged it was, with plenty of bubble/padding.

Tried 5- The winner of Musical Fidelity was a standout! I tested five phono preamps ranging in price from $30 to $150
5/5

This one was the best for $1000. Project tube box was a joke, vintage Conrad Johnson tube preamp, vintage Pioneer receiver with phono stage, NAD preamp, and finally this one. SL-Technics is a brand new product from Technics. It's a 1300 with Ortofon red and a Klipsch Forte II, and it sounds incredible!.

This is a significant upgrade
5/5

This is a significant improvement over the built-in amp preamp (as well as the phono amp in the turntable).
