That screen was returned, and I requested a replacement from Amazon. The second screen arrived in the same padded envelope, but this time it was in a box, which made more sense, and it wasn't cracked, so things were starting to look up. I complete the entire replacement process, triple-checking everything, and turn on the iPad only to discover THE HOME BUTTON DOES NOT WORK! At this point, Amazon won't even send me a replacement; apparently, two strikes and you're out, so the only option was to issue me a refund. So now I'm left with an iPad without a screen and a shattered willpower. br>br>On the plus side, I like the tools that are included; they performed admirably during the installation process. I also liked the pre-installed adhesive pads on the front and back of the screen, as well as the screen protection film. Others have had far more success with this screen than I have, but you get what you pay for sometimes.

It's not the first time I've had to replace a screen. After a couple of days, the button became mushy. It became grating after a while, but I learned to cope. Although I could tell it wasn't OEM quality, the digitizer performed admirably. My wife's case was never replaced, I realized. Sure enough, as soon as I put the case on, I noticed a small fracture crack. I was a tad irritated. The value of my time spent replacing the screen exceeds the cost of the screen. Even so, the screen was operational. It lasted about six months before the screen was busted. You might inquire as to what the cause of death was in the end. My dog walked on it because it was in its case, which was closed in its protector on the floor. 80lb lab. Lol. This is not a fabrication. I purchased this iPad Air in 2014 with the same screen protector, and it has held up well. Note: Wife, wine, iPad, and winter ice don't mix well with the OEM display. br>br>Summary: br>br> Yes, it works and functions properly; however, the buttons are mushy, as evidenced by numerous complaints. The screen, on the other hand, should be handled with extreme caution when it comes to cases and pressure. It was inexpensive, but the clean-up and installation took about two hours. This time I'm going to spend more money.

On my daughter's Ipad Air, this is the third time I've replaced the screen. The first two (from a different source) were a waste of time. This was an excellent choice. The issue with previous screens was that the home button cables were too long and would crimp no matter how careful you were. This one was a perfect fit, and it came with adhesive to keep it in place. The installation was simple and the product fit perfectly. The only issue with this screen, and according to what I've read, this is a problem with most replacements, is that the thin adhesive on the right side doesn't stick as well as it should; however, a small strip of clear tape works perfectly and is covered by the protective case. This new screen is a big hit with my kid.

However, it is essentially a new tablet. I love how inexpensive this was, and unless you're an expert, you should definitely watch a YouTube video before trying it. If you don't turn off your tablet, you risk shorting it out. Before closing the new screen, make sure everything is clean. Overall, I'm ecstatic. The home button sticks, making it difficult to use, but I'm grateful to have a tablet that will not cut my children if they use it.

The cables appear to be a little too thick, and when I first put it in place, the screen cracked right at the cable attachments. I've never had a new screen break before, despite the fact that I've replaced a lot of them. It's also possible that it was a product flaw. In any case, the screen was replaced as soon as possible.

When I contacted Amazon about the iPad home button not working, I was told that I needed to return the screen. I informed the customer service representative that removing the screen would almost certainly result in it breaking. I was sent a replacement and informed that I would not be charged, but I was charged again. So, in a nutshell, I pad for a broken screen. Not pleased:.

Because it worked for three weeks, I gave it three stars. It was my first screen replacement, and everything went smoothly at first; however, the home button began to stall and refuse to do what it was supposed to do toward the end of the weeks. When I took the screen off to look at it, I noticed that there was a lot of space between the button and the thing it needed to press, and they weren't even close to meeting. To be honest, unless I find one with excellent reviews, I may try the brand again.

I've replaced many screens and iPad components in the past, but this was by far the most difficult and necessitated the use of a heat gun. I reassembled the iPad and discovered that the LCD had cracked. If I had a do-over, I'd just buy a refurbished iPad instead of bothering.
