Without this tool, quick disconnect would be impossible
5/5

This tool can be seen in the picture, way back in the hose on the right, close to the firewall; it works perfectly. To loosen it up, simply place it over the hose and pull towards the front while pulling on the line. After replacing my oil pressure sensor and removing a quick disconnect brake booster hose without a quick disconnect tool recently, I learned the hard way. It wasn't quick, enjoyable, or simple in the least. Using this tool, I was able to easily remove the quick connect where my branch radiator hose connects to the firewall. Unfortunately, I believe I misplaced the tool after finishing the job because I have not been able to locate it since. Get it now and you'll be glad you did. I'll have to go out and buy another.

This tool is required for disconnection of the heater core
5/5

My truck came with two sets of quick disconnect tools, but neither set was deep enough to engage the quick connect pieces. I have a set that is very shallow and a set that is much deeper. This was the most in-depth of them all. The job became a lot easier as a result of this. Even if you already own quick connect tools, getting my hand behind the quick connect and pulling the hose off was still a pain, but this tool is a must-have. After inserting the tool, I had to spin it around a little to make sure the quick connect was completely disengaged. That is something I would suggest doing before causing any damage. It took a lot of force to separate the old hoses on a 2004 Silverado, but make sure the connector is completely disengaged before pulling really hard.

It is difficult to work with
3/5

My truck has no room behind the heater core line, so getting this tool in there and squeezing them shut while pulling on them at the same time is extremely difficult. Other vehicles may not have this problem,,,but I recommend getting the ones with handles. Also, the little nub that aligns the tool I had to cut off because it has to be perfectly aligned to close one, and once I cut it off, it worked better. This tool now works, and it removed both lines as a courtesy.

It Works! GMC 2500HD Classic Diesel 2007 br>I have several sets of quick-reference cards
5/5

I didn't think I'd need this one, but I got it just in case. I'm so glad I did. After a few failed attempts with my other tools, I gave up and switched to this one, which worked perfectly. It was a very confined space, and I had to work blindly and with my hands in awkward positions. The fitting fell apart as soon as this tool was properly in place. br>'Quick-fix' Connects are only for 'quick' connections, not for disconnects!.

Although some people claim that this tool isn't required, I can tell you that it is for my 2004 Silverado with a 5
4/5

8L V8. 3 engine, the quick connect has no tabs, snaps, buttons, or other means of releasing it from the heater core. You can either cut it off (risking damage to the heater core) or use this tool to get rid of it. Another point to mention is that I needed the tool to install the new quick connect, so I basically reversed the process of removing the old one. The old one could be easily replaced, but not the new one. If you want to replace the heater hoses on your GM vehicle, take my advice and save yourself a lot of trouble by getting this tool.

For a 2007 Tahoe 5, I would not suggest this part
3/5

It didn't work because it wouldn't fit between the firewall and the fitting, and the fittings weren't properly sized. Multiple tools are required to install the heater core line, which has two different line sizes. For a 2007 Tahoe 5, I would not suggest this part. Remove the tee fitting from the heater core of a 3L heater.

As was to be expected
5/5

I didn't even use it because I didn't want to wait for this shipment, so I used a Dremel and a side knurling router bit for wood to cut the quick connectors into pieces in the same way you would if you turned a cut pie on its side!! But be careful not to cut into the heater core tubing rib if you go too far! Then, using a flat screw driver, gently pry the pieces apart. The new quick connects went on without a hitch, and there was no leak!.
