In fact, the red or blue part of the valve needs to be turned to open or close it.
If I understand what you are trying to accomplish, you will attach your couplers to the A/C lines and leave them there while you are not using them, and once they are not in use, you will attach them to the "storage" fittings on the back My research indicates that they are able to produce what you want, and they're available on Amazon. All you need is a pair of adapters that convert R12 to R134a. It shouldn't be hard to come across the adapter on Amazon if you search for "R12 to R134a adapter". There are still quite a few of us old timers out there with old cars and old R12 systems that need to be converted to R134a. It's important to remember that the gauge fittings are 1/4" SAE flare, and I assume the quick connect fittings are standard, although I will need to investigate their assigned There should be an auto parts store near you that sells these. Thank you. I hope this was helpful.
In terms of how many are in a package, I believe there are 2 Red and 2 Blue. If they do not work with your hoses, you may need an adapter or you may need to buy some Robin hoses along with it
In the case of mine, it did not take that long
Selected User Reviews For Robinair 18192 R-134A Manual Replacement Coupler Set
These are exceptional quality, manufactured in the USA by Parker for Robinair. The Robinair company manufactures a full line of HVAC equipment, and they stand behind them. These are solid metal, either steel or brass plated with chrome, and they have high-quality machining. These knobs on top are used to employ the schrader valve to let you attach or disconnect from the schrader fitting while the valve is closed, so that there is no possible risk of accidental refrigerant loss or accidental frostbite. While these are more expensive than the cheap ones, they are worth the extra money. Since these were name brand units, you would expect the high side coupler to be sealed. Unfortunately, my unit came with a broken seal inside, so I contacted Robinair and received a replacement. It only took me a couple of minutes to find a part number and the name of a local tool supplier that carried the seal kit, the problem was solved (try that with the cheap, made in who knows where sets). Once I installed the seal, I connected the fittings to the schrader fittings and got a leak-free seal. The installations and removals of these products are easy and quick A six ball coupling is included, and the manual knobs work fine. It is recommended for those who are looking for excellent quality and only buying one set for life. They will require separate adapters to connect to standard manifold hoses, these have male 14mm threads on the coupler side and 1/4" SAE flare on the hose side.
I like these connectors a lot! My job is at Hyundai Motor Group's proving grounds, where my colleagues and I use them to measure the pressure in the AC lines by installing pressure transducers on competitor vehicles. Our testing covered many different brands and these are the only connectors that did not leak, even after leaving them on the car overnight for an entire week. Rodinair actually made these, but it's just that they private labeled and said Parker on them. *br* However, I think the connectors themselves are made by Parker. When I received them, I was delighted to see the Parker logo on them since I was specifically looking for Parker connectors.
There is only one drawback, and that is they do not come with the adapters needed to attach to the high/low side pressure lines of a 134a gauge It may be that their adapter function was designed so they could connect without connecting with.
I love it! It's great that you did this. In addition to blading the hose (see below), the hose can then be attached quickly before the knob is turned to open the Schneider valve, which connects the A/C system to the tank. There was no dial on the original connections and they were terrible. It was hard not to throw away the freon and oil while connecting New ones provide an opportunity to hook up the valve before the dial is depressed. The work they did for me was excellent. When you turn the dial you have to turn it quite a bit to open the valve and bleed the hoses. You can hear the freon purge the hoses after you turn the dial a few turns.
I worked on Honda's low pressure port since Harbor Freight's did not extend far enough down to depress the Schrader valve and allow it to be opened to allow gauge setting. The quality of the product is good, but the cost is high.
Robinair couplers are better than cheaper brands, so I am happy that I chose them. Hold connections that are very strong and positive. The fittings and valves should be free of slop.
This set is good quality and the directional arrows are etched in. I purchased them because I needed a new set. It's made by Parker, which is a great company that consistently.
These couplers are the best I have ever owned. Buy once, cry once. They are tight fitting, do not damage valves (when used carefully), and do not The Robinair vacuum pump I paid a lot for 20+ years ago is still in good working order. In the same vein, I expect these to follow suit.
