Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with a 2003 7? 3 ipr?

On my 2000 7, it wouldn't work.

Is it better to use a 6 point socket as shown or a 12 point socket? I was hoping for a 6, but instead got a 12. The Lisle website shows 12, and Amazon says the image is fine the way it is. ?

I'd have to dig through my tool bag to find this to check, but this socket worked perfectly; I had no problems using it, and it was half the price; I'd use it instead of 6 or 12 if I had to. And good luck with that IPR replacement if you need this tool. Mike D

The following is taken from the listing description: "It was used on a Ford 6." 0 and other Ford diesels", according to the manufacturer. In response to a question about the number 7, 3, the majority of people said "no," but no one offered any suggestions on what to do. ?

On an 03' to 07' 6, it's a socket for removing the IPR sensor. Only Ford Powerstroke models 0 and up are supported. On a 7, I don't think it's necessary. 3 Stroke Power

Is this going to work with the 2003 6? 0L IPR?

It was on my 2006 6 that I used it. No problems with a 0L diesel engine.

The Ford 7's IPR is not compatible
5/5

It was a perfect fit for my early 2003 Ford 6. With the Turbo charger installed, the IPR is not visible on the early 2003 CA trucks. Everything to do with removal and installation is 100% done by fingertip feel. I used a universal joint, a 6" extension, and a ratchet with the socket. To break the IPR loose, I had to use a 3' section of copper pipe as a cheater bar on the ratchet handle. Remove the socket after loosening the IPR with your finger tips after it has been broken loose. I had to remove the degas bottle, the air cleaner box and bracket where the air cleaner attaches to the turbo charger, the metal CAC pipe, the FICM, and the FICM mounting bracket the first time I went to it. I disconnected the three rearmost injector connectors from the fuel injectors, one ground wire, and the ground wire's mounting stud on the intake manifold. Installing the IPR was easier than removing it because I knew where it was and didn't have to go searching for it blindly. This task was made possible by the use of a Topside Creeper. The Topside Creeper is a must-have item for anyone who works on their own vehicles.

I worked on the truck

I'm devastated. It said it would fit a Ford F350 with a 7. 4 liter engine when we bought it. It won't fit, as we'll discover. As a result, we squandered our money on this product and will not buy anything else from this company in the future. They do now have a small area that says it isn't compatible, which I noticed. It would have been great if it had been available when we placed our order. I could have saved some money if I had done so.

It performs admirably
4/5

The insulated sleeve, on the other hand, is a pain. It performs admirably. The description SAYS it is for the 6 in all of the negative reviews. If this is your first time, there is an insulated sleeve over the IPR that is undone with a snap (the socket will not fit over it). br>br>If this is your first time, there is an insulated sleeve over the IPR that is undone with a snap (the socket will not fit over it). I could only reach it with my fingertips and undo the snap. Because I couldn't reattach it with my fingers, I used needle nose pliers to thread a piece of stainless wire through it and close it.

The money was well spent
5/5

It was an excellent solution. R tool that is very specific. A Ford 6's R 0 IPR valve (as well as other potential applications). However, if you've ever needed it, you'll be grateful. I'm not sure how well it would hold up in a professional setting, but it worked perfectly for me, and I'm confident it will continue to work as long as I need it. I'm hoping it won't happen again, but it's still in my toolbox in case it does! If you have a Ford 6, you'll know what I'm talking about. 0 and perform your own maintenance, do yourself a favor and purchase this item before you require it. If you own a 6, you will have problems with the high-pressure oil pump system. 0 has been used for a long time.

Doesn't work with Ford 7
3/5

3 IPR for diesel. This is not compatible with the IPR valve for 7. 3 I just made one out of a deep 1-inch hole. I threw this in the bottom of the tool box with the 1/8" socket. It's a shambles of a summary. It was my fault for not paying enough attention to the finer points.

I worked for a Powerstroke 6 from the year 2003
5/5

It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Once the air cleaner, coolant expansion tank, FICM, and wiring harness have been removed, the best access is possible - Otherwise, there will be insufficient leverage to free it. For the best access, use a 1/2" universal socket with a 6" extension.

This was a huge success
5/5

For those who work part-time as mechanics. This was a huge success. For those who work part-time as mechanics - On an 04 F250, removing the IPR necessitates the removal of a few other items. To remove my IPR, I needed a breaker bar. Also, before you put in your new one, make sure the screen (on IPR) is either on it or that you go after it with a magnet.
